Post independent artists, or artists on majors that albums flopped when they shouldn't have.

Homebwoi.

one block radius
Indie Rap
California

"Black Mercedes" and "Mama's Heart" put them on the map on the underground, and they've developed a pretty loyal fanbase.

marty james, z-man, and MDA are a trio that sound like a mix between Sublime, Pharcyde, Outkast, and Hall and Oates (haha).

It's really funky, catchy stuff.

donovan frankenreiter
folk/jam/acoustic rock/surf rock/roots rock... it's good chill music

a california native and former pro surfer. he released his sef-titled debut on his good friend jackson johnson's label, brushfire records. he wanted to seperate himself from jack, because they're so similar with the music and pro-surfing background. he signed with lost highway for his second album, "move by yourself".

ha, i just realized that two of the bands I mentioned (Corrosion of Conformity and Cry Of Love) shared a member (Keenan, guitar player). as a side note, the other guitarist from Cry Of Love (Audley Freed) ended up joining the Black Crowes. I also almost bought one of his old amps. It had burn marks all over the cabinet where he'd overheated it and let it catch on fire.

I remember Leadfoot. I had a buddy that played guitar for them years ago. Like 7 or 8 years ago.

Speaking of old bands from NC. Does anyone remember a band from Charlotte called SPITE? I used to dig the shit out of em.

Irreversible...experimental rock band in the vein of isis/pelican/giant...i happen to find this band better, though...their "age" ep is the best release i have heard from this genre and all the guys are only 20/21 years old...this band will blow up in time...a lot of themes from the movie "irreversible"

ace of base came out when i was in high school

nobody is discussing shit here - it's another great example of indie-penis music talk

someone posts this shit in every thread because you fuckers find some way to start another jackass i'm more indie than you thread at least twice a week...which is amazing because if people find out about your indie-idols, they'll become famous and ruin your ability to name drop (can it be name dropping if no one has ever heard of them?)

because were trying to give unknown artists some publicity we are saying were more indie than you. that makes sense. I guess we should only listen to well known bands, because obviously they are the only good bands out there. if you arent well known from the day you start, you must be awful.

goalie, the wolf web is nowhere to flex your indie cock. this is an nc state message board. nobody is impressing anybody, and i strongly doubt anyone is really trying. who gives a shit if some geeky engineer or dumbfuck com student talks about a band that you haven't heard? you sound like the kind of guy who votes republican out of spite.

^^^^This is the entertainment section, correct? I believe the premise of this thread is to provide more exposure to artist that we feel did not get as much exposure as they deserved. There are quite a few bands/musicians in this thread that I have never heard of, but I will check some of them out now because of this thread.

Quote :

Yeah, we don’t want people to find out about the music we listen to, so much in fact that we make threads, and provide links as well as information regarding all of this “secret” music.

If you have such an issue, or more so of an aversion to individuals listing, or informing others about music, why dignify the thread by posting in it?
