i highly doubt that the larger ball ate the smaller one. either he's still in there hiding and you just happened to not find him or he is out

i know they aren't cannibalistic, but he did eat him..i have a 40 gal tank and i took everything out...he's not there...and i have a lock with clamps on my cage so there's NO WAY he got out

i call bullshit....sorry

unless you were really starving these snakes, i've never heard of one ball eating another.....

kingsnakes yes

balls no

but with locks and everything, it does seem a bit odd

is your other snake really full?

if the larger snake ate the smaller one you'd be able to tell just by looking at the larger snake. you may think you had the cage completely locked up but you may have just underestimated who good some snakes are at getting out of tiny cracks/crevices

yea, one ball python eating another is a bit of a stretch. either you fucked up and completely forgot the last time you took it out, or maybe a roommate is to blame. snakes are fuckin escape artists...so just start lookin under stuff in the room (warmest places first, obviously).

i really think that rather than jumping towards buying a new one, you should be spending some time looking for the damn thing. oh, and if the one ate the other, it should be pretty obvious if it feels pretty rigid. and if there was large enough of a size difference that you wouldnt be able to feel it if it did get eaten, shame on you.

you gotta think, you got a pet. you got a responsibilty.
you dont go look for an hour and call it quits,
you get your ass out there and you find that fuckin snake

You'd be surprised at how much a Ball Python can flatten itself (even with how fat they are or at least I hope yours are fat as they should be if you're caring for them properly) and what they can get out of. I would consider myself an experienced snake handler and I even have snakes get out. Ball Pythons simply do not eat eachother, it's not in their nature. I've gotta agree with castorall, you made a commitment and you have a responsibility to this animal to do everything you can to find it. Beofre you look into getting anymore animals you need to seriously do your research and know what you're getting into because it's obvious you haven't done so yet. I certainly wouldn't sell you one of mine.
