[to be officially revealed at NY Auto Show in a few days]

Anybody have the May issue of MT? There is an article in it with pics!

specs and further mag scans at http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1230198

direct links to pics from link above:

http://share.3wheel.net/images/cars/wrx2s.jpg
http://share.3wheel.net/images/cars/wrx4s.jpg

someone with html can resize them and post here.

i wonder what this will do to the customer base... will it increase, decrease, or stay the same?

i know, but some cars deserve their own thread.

you know, the ones which hold special status in the auto enthusiast community, like M3, WRX, Evo, G35 (now G37), etc!

my point is those are the only cars we care about. we don't care about some new hotness kia being unveiled. so you should just put all the hotness + /care in one thread and leave out the junk + /nocare all together.

not true.

some people DO care about the new STS, or the Mazda 2, or the new Camry, etc.

and they go in one thread, because each car will generate only a few replies.

if i put the M3, WRX, G37, etc in one thread, it will be chaos. since each car is generating a page or more of replies, there will be a mixup and it will be hard to follow the discussion as every other post or so will be about a different car, and there won't be a straight train of thought.

any car that will generate a page of replies should have its own thread, that's all i am saying.

i mean, there are threads about chicks and birthdays in the garage... no one complains about those.

and why does it bother you so?

BTW, here is a video of the EVO X doing laps in SoCal:

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/GeneralFuture/articleId=120079

thankfully it will stay a sedan.

[for those who don't know, the EVO X was released a few months back in "prototype" form, but basically it will not be changed much at all when it is released to the public in less than a year: http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/prototype_x.asp]

i don't know what your fuggin problem with having more than 1 thread in garage is but you're not the mod so no one really cares what you think.
I prefer to know what i'm going to look at before i get into a thread and i'd like to keep discussion on that one topic.

that being said this new wrx looks less.... agressive than the rest. it looks kinda like a toyota in the grill other than the subie symbol...ohh wait... i wonder why it looks like a toyota almost forgot for a second. I hate the chrome and it doesn't look mad... it looks happy... i bet with an aftermarket grill though she'd look mean .

For some reason it reminds me of this and thats no good.

Did they not just update the WRX last year? And the year before that?

07 has new transmission gear ratios and ECU and i think maybe a tad wider wheelbase.
06 was a cosmetic update.

08 is a completely new chassis.

Hatchbacks are the new trend. Subaru is just jumping on the band wagon. I'm more worried about performance specs. I'll be waiting for the countdown...

^ your chop is great. here is what i think:

original grill: econocar look
your grill: performance car look!

but, i am sure the STi version will have a different grill anyway, well, hopefully.

no one has commented on how it looks from the back:

someone with html please reduce them to 1024 width and embed here. thanks.

p.s. oh shit you said the same... i and i read it now after i said the above:

and i thought subie were going to adapt that wing-shaped grill (on the current imprezza, and b9 tribeca) to all future models as the corporate grill?

not that i am complaining, because that grill would look so ugly on this! well, i think so, unless i see a chop and see differently.

but the idea of a corporate grill is definitely good, and all carmakers are moving towards it.

They then shifted to the legacy grill because no one liked the b9 look... then toyota purchased them and...

snuck in.

Hideous. It looks like something Ford would design and then throw in the scrap pile because it was too ugly.

fuck ugly ass 'hot hatches' , and that includes the GTI. They all remind me of my dad's 93 Mercury Tracer hatch, which my little brother (who like 4 years old at the time) called a "butt car."

well I thought his hatch was ugly, and these hatches don't look sufficiently different, so they're ugly too

looks like a focus hatch.
i still like it though. much better than bugeyes and much better than that oval grill crap from last year

depending on how big they are, i might want one. if they are about the size of the 93-01 bodystyle impreza's, it would be ideal. i've always hated the wrx because it is just a big car.

New cars in general never appeal to me anymore because they all look so big. I pulled up next to a new Civic SI 2 door in my S2000 and it looked freakin huge!

well with things like ABS and dual airbags, what do you expect? and you can't really sell a car without power windows and locks now...

if the wrx tr was actually light weight and had the sti motor people would buy the fuck out of it

but 500 bucks off for no power windows no power locks no radio and nearly no weight savings was a rip

cars like r code mustangs have always sold

I didn't think Subaru would stoop to this level... 08 Subaru Impreza WRX (top) vs. 07 Mazda 3 (bottom)

I'm disappointed.
