Is there a way I can hide my website and if people try visiting any of the pages, it will just show one page the entire time? I'm looking to put up a "site under maintenance, come back soon" page. Thanks.

If you want to protect from them guessing at subfolder structure and seeing content then just use chmod to change access and turn off indexes.

Oh, and if you don't want to change an index.html in the main directory then you can always redirect your domain to a different location.

great advice already

people generally hate site under maintenance/construction pages - i would avoid that and keep the old site up and running until a new one is ready but if you must...

move the entire contents to a "work" directory and just place a index.html that has the under construction text

.htaccess file and a robots.txt file to keep it from being indexed until it's ready
