I just bought a lenovo n100 computer and the stuff that was supposed to be on there isn't.
Now, is there any way to get the button to work? The camera doesn't work either.
I am trying now to install rescue and recovery from the website, but if that doesn't work, is there any way to redo my computer from scratch without having to ship it back for another one? (That's what the guy told me to do on the phone) 3/29/2007 7:11:47 PM |

Send it back if you haven't put any of your personal stuff on there yet. Small delay will save bigger delays in trying to figure out whats wrong.3/29/2007 8:46:35 PM |

Seems like you got it going already, but for reference:

If this is true, send it back.

You have quite a few options. 1. Uninstall and then re-install the Lenovo Care software from C:\SWTOOLS folder (All original software is included in this directory). 2. Uninstall and download latest Lenovo Care package from lenovo.com. 3. Restore your system to the most recent backup (or factory state if need be).

Currently, there is no webcam software for the N100 persay. You can use Picasa, which is a photo editing tool to take pictures. Otherwise, it should still work with various chat programs, other webcam software, video conferencing, etc...

If you want to reload the system to "factory" state or a backup, then you can either press the Lenovo Care button or F11 at bootup to get into the hidden recovery partition. From there, you should have options to restore your system (if you deleted Rescue & Recovery then you're SOL).3/30/2007 8:36:59 AM |
