Rush is coming to Raleigh in June--I plan on going. I've been rocking out on them on YouTube lately. Killer!

I'll be there. One of the best 3 piece bands EVER.
Pert=God of drummers
Geddy is up their as far a bassists go, and add his complete mastery of being able to multitask on stage... unbelievable
Alex is good in his own right too.

^ Then you're older than 27, dude. Signals came out in 1982--were you going to high school and concerts when you were two years old?

BTW, I meant to post the Signals tour--but "Subdivisions" was the first song on that album. In any event, Rush has a cool Web site, too:

Hope the new album is good. Vapor Trails was pretty good. Ghost Rider is one of the best songs they have written.

New album came out today. how is it? I haven't gotten it yet. I heard that one single they have out and it was pretty good. Sounded a lot like their last album too me, which was a pretty solid album.

It's pretty good. Has a definite "laid back" vibe to it. I enjoy it much more than Test For Echo and Vapor Trails.

Nice to see Alex Lifeson has learned to play guitar solos again...I guess it was that tazering the cops gave him.

Rush tonight. I'm pretty pumped. Dude I'm going with saw them in Atlanta and Charlotte already and said they were the best shows he has ever seen from them, and he's been following them for about 15 years.

Neil Peart is was the best drummer of all time.

Don't know what happened, but he's fallen off BIG TIME in the past decade. Watched one of his solos during their last tour...almost shockingly lame. I was able to play along with it after about three listen throughs.

^ Who cares about a drum solo? Drum solos in general are LAME. Its all about how you incorporate it into songs, without it being too much (Dream Theater), but more than just the beat. I think his drumming on the new album is pretty damn sick if you ask me.

Also, Geddy is still the best bass player in rock n' roll.

^ that's clever how you did that. College. But I guess to answer you're question, I'd say close to 20,000 people, just in the Raleigh area.

Show was awesome last night. Couldn't believe some of the stuff they pulled out. Passage to Bangkok was just ridiculous. The lights were absurd. Hope you other guys had a good time too.

The lights were ridiculous. Those pod things that were going up and down with the marquee lights on them were fantastic, and how they went around Alex a couple of times for solos was really cool.

^come on man, you really think everything you heard was all them?

for example, when geddy stops playing bass to play the keyboards, who was magically playing bass? they have stuff piped in at some points but i will say the mix was really good. the bass guitar sound was incredible and he rocked it so hard, i was impressed with the bassin

^ A lot of time when he stops playing bass, there is no bass guitar sound. The keys he uses can be bassy at parts, especially during "Subdivisions" last night.

but yeah, definitely parts in where they layer things, especially on vocals. That always bothers me about any live performance, but what are you gonna do? Still awesome how Alex actually says "subdivisions" during that chorus of that song live.

it's still only 3 guys... someone (Geddy) has to start the layers. and like someone said, he uses foot pedals for a lot of the synth/effects. even when they are just rocking, they are possibly the strongest sounding 3-piece ever.
