I believe this is many of the same people who did "Matchbook Morning", which had a highly entertaining thread on this forum, so I would expect that any negative comments will be met with outrage and hostility by those involved with it.

DIRECTED BY BRANDON TWEED!!!!!!!!!!!1

Wasn't this supposed to be made like 4 years ago?

I await the hilarity.

oh and I'm going to say this now so that someone can quote it after the film's release:

Just because you make a feature length film does not mean that you make a great film. If you expect Film professors to tell you your film sucks then you're extremely naive. While I applaud your effort, I am sure the film will suck.

I think I'm going to start telling people who ask how I've been, etc., that "I've been busy with literary...achievements."

edit: Did I catch I quick glimpse of Tom Wallis towards the end? Hahahahahaha.

^^ seriously. it's a conversation, not an elephant 6 drum kit, put the fucking microphone somewhere in their vicinity.

this looks like something between adaptation and stranger than fiction. that's guaranteed, um...something.

i'm not surprised that gina finally showed up in one of these, though

Brandon will defend his movie by saying that all of the sound problems are intentional. I saw Matchbook Morning (my friend did the music) and when I criticized the sound/music mixing (it sounded like it was from a low quality MP3) and the video sync issues he basically said that anything we saw or heard in the film was all intentional and that my criticisms weren't valid. Tweed pretty much won't admit any flaws in his films. He's such a fucking egotistical prick. I mean look at that poster! His name's up there four times.

I seriously hate that guy. Total fucking hack.

"Matchbook Morning" was a good amature indy film that I enjoyed. It had flaws, just like every movie ever created does. It falied to give me more of what I wanted.

(ex) more action. I like the basketball scene where the swole white guy was all aggressive and being a jerk towards the star athlete. But I think that scene should have lasted longer to fully explain what was actually going on.

(ex) Instead of multiple stories, just one or two very solid ones. I liked the athletes story and the depressed dudes story. They had potential, but they were underdeveloped.

I wasn't concerned with the technical flaws. This was his first film so they were expected. Now on his third work, I expect the flaws to be less. This SHOULD be better than "MM" due to experience and trial & error.

In all fairness, you should check out Bret Ratners' early work. He went to a prestigious film school and his work was not good. Look where he is now!!

As far as the trailer, not bad.

The reason his name is in the credits so many times is because they don't have the money to hire anyone to do anything, so he does it all himself. Or else he's a control freak...or both.

Whatever, I'll pass on this one. The trailer reminded me of a lot of these art rock bands I hear on WKNC...trying way too hard to be artistic and not succeeding.

They should make a cool action flick or gory/cheesy zombie movie. that would be way cooler than trying to make a really deep drama.

No, here's the thing. Instead of saying "yeah, there are some technical flaws, but hey, this is my first attempt at making a movie" he instead turned around and basically said "there are no flaws. Anywhere you see frame drops or audio stutters it was all intentional." The guy pretty much can't admit any flaws with his "masterpieces".

And you've got to be kidding, MM was incredibly boring. How about that drawn-out scene of the guy eating cereal which blatantly stole from Requiem for a Dream's fast editing technique? I'm sure that, like all the other drawn-out scenes (I seem to remember a five or ten minute split screen sequence somewhere in there) were absolutely critical to the story. Right.

not to mention MM was not his first feature length movie, i had the "pleasure" of watching his highschool feature Funk Justice.

he seems really set on doing these feature length movies, then they just end up being slow and boring as shit because hes trying to make it feature length.

My point is, you never know what the future has in store for him. Or for anybody. Noone can get it right their first time around, or second, third etc. It takes practice and constructive, helpful criticism. Not hate. I don't know this guy, but if he is egotistical and doesn't take criticims well---he will definitely learn the hard way.
