Hi,
Question for those in the know:
I'm currently finishing up my graduate degree at another institution and should be done by the summer.; however, I still have an unfinished 2nd undergraduate major (only 4 classes) in Accounting at NCSU.
How would I go about gaining readmission to NCSU to finish up these classes. Would you recommend doing something like this, or is it a waste of time?
Thanks! 4/18/2007 5:35:27 PM |

I'm not really "in the know," but I'd assume with that few classes left to complete for your 2nd major, it might be worth a shot to get it done with if you think you might use it in the future. Here's what the Admissions website says:
Quote : | "Assuming that you left NC State in good standing (all debts were paid, your grade point average was greater than a 2.0, you had no academic integrity issues), being readmitted into NC State is fairly straightforward. Reading the Readmission of Former and Suspended Degree Students Policy should be your first stop before beginning this process. It will explain NC State's policies and expectations for readmitting students.
Next, you will need to obtain a Readmission Form from the Office of Registration and Records. You can get this form by visiting the office in 1000 Harris Hall or by checking out the Registration and Records web page and clicking on "Forms." Once you have this form, print and send it back to Registration and Records along with a $35 readmission fee.
Readmitted students may still work with their previous advisers, if they wish. However for your first registration back in school, you should contact the Coordinator of Advising for your major to determine if there have been any changes to degree programs or classes while you were out. Coordinators usually have better access to PIN numbers for returning students than do individual faculty advisers.
If you want to readmit to a major other than the one you were in, you will need to meet the requirements for entrance into the new major. You can find the intracampus transfer policy on Advising Central. Click on the Policy button and then the first link of frequently asked questions. Scroll down, click on Intracampus Transfer. On the next page scroll down to the bottom and click on the College that has the major; all of the requirements for admission to the major will be listed.
If you were not in good academic standing when you left NC State, go to the FAQ button and search for questions and answers related to "suspension".
If you have additional questions regarding this process, you can click on "Ask a Question"." |
