Has anyone taken him for 415 before? and if so how was the test at the end of the semester?

He has screwed us all semester and i think he's going to do it again. just trying to verify that and if it is exactly like the homework or nothing like the homework.

i had eischen (no clue how to spell it) but if i remember right everyone got bs in dows class no matter how bad it looked at the time.

(not positive but i think it was dow)

I had Dow last semester. If you make +-5 points to the average on everything, then you will get a B. A large majority failed the final because there was not enough time to finish it. Don't worry too much if you are at or near the average for everything.

Eischen was quite boring in my opinion and didn't teach very well. I think if I had to choose over again, I would have taken Tran.

at least in eischen's class you looked at more than 3 chapters of the book

i have Eischen now for 316 and I admit he isn't the greatest teacher. But his tests have been pretty easy.

When I signed up, Tran's section was full so it was between Eischen and and Dow and no one seemed to have anything good to say about Dow. So hopefully Eischen's similarly ok for 415.

I took Dow last semester. I made a 45 on the first assignment which was just rewriting another report, but the average was a 60. Then I had about an 80 something average on hw's due to the fact that sometimes things weren't clearly defined and I got like a 70 on a couple. On the projects through out the semester my group got somewhere around the class average on most and did about the best on the hard one which involved writing a long code in Matlab. I got about 10 points above average on the final and ended up with an A-. I had no idea what grade I would get in the course due to the grading but it ended up ok. Dow seems to be harder than other teachers but I ended up learning alot through the course.
