Ok, I have a wacom intuos3 6x8 tablet. It works great and I love it. However, I want to get a new monitor and I would prefer to get a wide screen. So i'm wondering what I could get for this so that I can buy the 6x11 (widescreen) version.

If anyone as used the standard ratio tablet on a widescreen and can vouch that it doesn't get all kinds of screwed up please let me know.

I may be able to sell it to my aunt and uncle for my cousin, but I'm not certain she would want it and they live in delaware so that couldn't happen for another month or so anyway.

I got it as a present this past christmas. I've used it a lot during the breaks but beyond that I don't have a lot of time. So it's probably got about a months worth of regular use. I have the original box, software, etc.. The box is in delaware but i could get it, all the software is here. I would be willing to just give you the pen and mouse and nibs from the new tablet (though i never use the mouse).

what would/do you offer?

If you use painter or other drawing/painting apps and have never used a tablet I highly recommend it. I'd be willing to let someone try it out for a day or two if they were serious about it. It took me about 20 minutes to get accustomed to and then it was nothing but fun from there on out.

the tablet works fine if I force the ratio on my new screen, so I'm not that worried about getting rid of it now. Didn't seem to be much interest here but in case anyone is, I may still consider selling it so I can make the switch.

ahh... I had an offer for 250 from some girl through craigslist but she said something came up and she had to use the money for something else. I've since set up my new display and found that I can force it to use a 4:3 ratio. So having the 6x11 would be nice but it's not necessary. Especially since it would cost me money to make the switch.

I will tell you this though.

CompUSA is going out of business and I was in there the other day and they had one, and just one, of these (6x8) for 260. May be even less now if they've increased the % off.

might be worth calling them or going by there.

hmmmmm... *strokes real, though very short, beard*

Using a mouse and keyboard doesn't come close. It's well worth the money in my opinion. Especially if you can get it half off or something at compUSA.

If you have any questions about them I'd be glad to answer, or if you haven't used one before I'd probably be willing to let you try mine out to see if it's something you'd really want to shell the money out for.

^ did you read the thread at all? Not only is it not for sale but there was already a bid in here for $100

To Clarify: It's not for sale any longer. I wanted to sell it and buy the wide screen version because I was worried about it not working with my new monitor. After setting up the lcd I found that my video card software could force the monitor to use a 4:3 ratio instead 16:10, thus solving my worries.

Repeat: Not for Sale

and a little heads up: The pens alone cost about $60. Someone would have to be pretty hard up or really never use the thing to sell it for 50.

so the CompUSA GOB sale is worth the trip?

drove by the other day and saw the signs, but had no time to stop.

How deeply are they discounting stuff? (I just ask b/c it's not close for us, but it'd be worth the drive if the deals are good enough)

BTW, I've got a graphire tablet that I love and use daily. What are your alls' thoughts on the differences between the Graphire and the Intuos lines? I've thought about stepping up, but always thought I'd skip the Intuous and save the cash to get a Cintiq (so I could just draw on screen....but then there are tablet PCs....)

decisions decisions

Ok, any input would be greatly appreciated. (and so that the thread doesn't get out of hand or locked - since the tablet is already sold - feel free to PM me about it) OR somebody could move the thread if there's enough interest out there...

Oh yeah, and I'll give somebody a deal on this Graphire if I do end up stepping up and spending the cash.

thanks in advance everyone.
