Hey,
Im looking for a bike i guess considering one again, Thinkign 1000cc, trying to find somethign newer, like a 1000rr, or an R1, anybody got any personal experiences.
Im not trying to get some little tiny bike.
Had lunch with that squirt chick She looks fine on that machine, but a unless your a little limp wristed like that retardfjs40 kid i dont see a guy riding one.
So what is it, 1000rr, i love honda quality, ive ridden literbikes before so I know i can handle it the question is whats the best bang for the buck. Have been outa the bike thing for a few years. 4/24/2007 1:22:45 PM |

I'm not sure you'd be happy with anything less than that dodge monstrosity
or Leno's turbine bike

get a naked sv
not nearly as limp wristed looking AND you won't die.
the only way you need a liter bike is if you weigh 400lbs and then you need a twin not a high winding motor.4/24/2007 1:33:13 PM |

you'll never begin to tap the potential of a liter bike, and will probably just end up hurting yourself.
have you actually ever ridden anything before? modern 600's are no joke, and are more than enough to keep even experienced riders busy. not to mention the only area a liter machine will outperform a 600 is on longer straights. that's assuming you're even a good enough rider to hang with a lighter bike through the turns and get the power to the ground accelerating out.
have fun getting your ass handed to you by people on "little tiny bikes". 4/24/2007 1:50:01 PM |

^^^^^yeah you do...you just don't know it.
600s are fast as shit, and i'll bet money that they offer more performance than you really know what to do with. they're considered "middleweights" for a reason.
let me put it this way...i've ridden dozens of motorcycles for probably 10s of thousands of miles (including an R1 and 954RR), and last owned a GSX-R 750. I was a good and aggressive enough rider to scratch the footpegs on that GSX-R down to sharp points and ride wheelies up to ~110 mph...the only person who's ever managed to outrun me on a bike is r1pimpin...my next bike will be my 4th motorcycle, and I plan on buying something like an SV-650 to get back in the game since I haven't ridden a lot in about 3 years...then I plan on getting another 600, because they're more fun than any literbike except for just grabbing a big handful of throttle while accelerating onto the interstate or something (which is not at all what a sportbike is for).
600s and 1000s are the same physical size--it doesn't matter how big you are...that's no reason to get a bigger bike.

hard to find a more manly bike than that.
i will laugh my ass off when that bitch will throw you off the back once you get all cocky and trigger happy.
i will then proceed to pick up more chicks on squirt's tiny SV650 than you ever would with a brand new rocket off the lot.
btw here is the picture of the r1. i want 5g's for it.

^^ dude, a 600 will do wheelies just fine if you know how to do it.
Hell, I've wheelied an old ass ZX-6e almost vertical without ever even touching the clutch. My 750 would stand straight up at 85 mph in 2nd gear without touching the clutch, and you couldn't keep the front wheel grounded in 1st gear even if you wanted to.
If you just want it to wheelie all the time, just gear it down like every other stunt rig. Those dudes don't need liter machines.

oh
and an old GSX-R 1100 is in no way comparable to a modern liter bike. I have serious doubts that it would even run with a modern 600 (I mean in a straight line...I know it would get murdered anywhere else). It certainly would be WAY behind a new GSX-R 750. 4/24/2007 2:17:13 PM |

^ Yea I like when you go to the Drag strip and you got them ppl have there old 1100's out there str8 piped out all streched out and a new STOCK 750 or 1000 eats them apart kinda funny 4/24/2007 2:20:19 PM |
theDuke866 All American 52840 Posts user info edit post |
yeah, i've seen some turbo'd 1100s, trailered to the strip, that were really quick.
but in general, even a stock (much less strapped down) liter classer will absolutely destroy an old 1100, and a 750 would beat it pretty severely. 4/24/2007 2:23:45 PM |

get a 600 and learn to ride it.
hell once you actually learn the ins and outs of a bike you will see that you never needed a 1000CC bike. Most people out there never even tap the potential their bikes have before they decide they have "out grown" them. 4/24/2007 3:09:41 PM |
wlfpk4evr Veteran 350 Posts user info edit post |
I know how to ride, ive been on current 600, i dont feel like playing with gearing, I might have to take a look at that R1.
I dont see many riders on 600s doing power sheelies at 70 mph, a 600 would be fine if i just wanted to cruze around town, or sit in a parking lot and stand it up.
I never considered a gsxr 750, im not saying im UNWILLING to consider other things, but it seems to be tha tthe 750 is almost a literbike anyways, it certainly has more power than alot of the vtwin liter machines. 4/24/2007 3:32:40 PM |

i wouldnt by a sv for stunting either since entended wheelies starve the engine for oil since the oil pickup is in the front...but i wouldnt get a 1000 either y spend that much money to just wheelie and drop all the time 4/24/2007 4:10:13 PM |

ive currently got an 04 600rr and by all means it is perfect for the twisties, the light weight makes it so tossable. And realistically it has plenty of power. However,I will admit ive considered trading it in for a bigger bike just to get a little more pop in the lower rpms (dont really want to die though).
theDuke866 you mentioned that 1000cc bikes arent physically bigger but most I have seen are, a busa or a zx14 for example. The reason I ask is that is a big reason I would consider the upgrade. A 6'3" 230 lb guy like me makes the 600 look tiny. 4/24/2007 4:11:28 PM |

Im not even lookin for busa or zx14, im not goign to track events.
and frankly if i drop it i adrope it, its boudn to happen anyway, no matter how experienced, illd eal with the cost hwen it happens.

you need my R1 too. it's only 30 pounds up on the r6 of the same year and about the same size. it was the first liter class bike to have 600 class dimensions and feel.
