I have 7 Sun Enterprise servers available for sale. They are worth much more than my asking price, I just need the space and don't have time to assemble and test each server for a top dollar retail sale. If you like playing with Sun hardware and want to make some money, this should be a good lot to purchase. The Items are as follows:

2 - E450 Sun Servers, 4 - E250 Sun Servers, 1 - E420R Sun
Server and a Sun A1000 drive array. I have 5 or 6 GB of Sun memory I will
throw in with this deal, along with lots of processors. Most of these
servers will need processors, memory, and hard drives installed, but you will have all the parts just from what I am including in this deal. I will include 10 Sun 9.1 GB Hard Drives all are in the hot swap brackets. I will also include 2 spare Sun hard drive brackets with screws.

One of the Sun E450 units is complete and working with no assembly needed,
it is configed with 4 - 400 MHz procs, 2 GB RAM, and the 10 - 9.1 GB hard
drives. I sold a unit identical to this one on craigslist for $250 just a couple weeks ago...so there is money to be made on this equipment, despite it's age.

what versions of linux would you be able to run on that complete e450? like would one of the newer Ubuntu's work or not?

personally why would you want to run linux on a sun box...just get a old cheapo x86. Well now that solaris 10 is out.

^ well, an E450 is an Enterprise class server, with redundant power, and room for 20 hot swappable hard drives and 16 sticks of RAM. Do you know of a cheapo x86 with those specs? without adding an external array?

Do you know if the SUN Registered ram will work with X86 servers? If so I'm interested in the ram.
