It's not about melting the steel, it's about weakening it so that it would collapse.

It's why all the conspiracy nuts were wrong. They merely looked at the melting point of the steel and said "OMFG this can't happen" when steel has a "gradient" of temperatures over which its strength diminishes.

I'm not sure I believe the steel completely melted in this case. IIRC, mainstream testing demonstrated that gasoline fires (or at least jet fuel) wouldn't be able to melt steel.

This doesn't prove steel in the Twin Towers melted.
