theres a website at Microsoft where you can get a bootloader recovery program that restores your MBR.

ive used it several times when ive fucked up my partitions and/or boot record, and its worked awesome every time.

i cant remember exactly where i got it, and i'm not at home. but its linked somewhere through "support.microsoft.com"

its the one that you download and then copy onto 5 or 6 floppy disks.

Or just borrow somebody elses damn XP CD. I had a lady at work whose Dimension did this Thursday. Took it to my office and threw the disk in and ran chkdsk on it and 15 minutes later the computer was running just fine.

^ yeah thats it. free download, you put it on 6 floppies. it will restore your windows in 15 mins or less.

its a good recovery tool if you dont have the XP CD, and cant find anyone right away to borrow it from.
