Has anyone ever played around with any of those "investing" games?
Almost like a fantasy type game.
I'd like to eventually get pretty deep into investing, and would like to have some mock trial runs to see how it all works 5/23/2007 11:15:08 PM |

I used to work at a stock analysis company and they did a competition to see who could turn 50K into the most in a month.
Well the investment simulator used 30 minute delayed data, whereas we had real time information, so we could cheat the market. One girl went from 50K to like 180 mil in the month. Management was pissed. 5/23/2007 11:56:39 PM |

it doesnt mean shit if its not real money. people simply play the game differently if there is nothing at stake.
Now, if you turned this into a XXX dollar pool, you might be have something that is interesting.

etrade.com
make an account there. they might ask for your bank account information. not a big deal, they won't use it. then buy and sell whatever you want and see what happens. they even fake all the transaction fees for you. 5/24/2007 12:21:09 AM |

My friends do this with http://www.optionsxpress.com/. they are taking some stocks class and are spending 6 months doing fantasy trading before they get involved in real money. 5/24/2007 3:04:06 AM |
