Here,
If you go single family you can have a yard, lower dues, and a home you are less likely to outgrow in the near future. Single family homes generally appreciate faster, you get more of a return on upgrading them, and you don't have to share a wall with your neighbor. Also you have a yard to fence in for pets, entertaining, etc.
I don't care how good people tell you the party walls are on a townhouse, they are not that good.
