My boyfriend and I won a date of our choice, reimbursable for up to $100. We're covering hot date spots for a local magazine. We'll take pics and write captions, so the date needs to be visual and creative. I have tons of great ideas, but I'm just curious to see how other folks would make the most of $100 on a date.
I don't live in Raleigh, so I'm not looking to steal your date ideas. Just curious. Is there a type of hip, new date activity you've wanted to try? 5/31/2007 5:55:58 PM |

We've been toying with the idea of going to a Furry convention.

you can have a pretty good date for less than $100 bucks
you can tour a winery and have dinner (chatham hill, hinnant, and duplin are all within driving distance) and can be done for $100 or less 6/1/2007 9:13:59 AM |

Figure 8 races are awesome. If only I had known about this while I had a rental car last weekend. 6/1/2007 5:45:37 PM |

[Edited on July 31, 2007 at 3:54 AM. Reason : a c-note won't cover both]
[Edited on July 31, 2007 at 3:55 AM. Reason : the bodies exhibit would also make for an interesting date if that's your kinda thing] 7/31/2007 3:48:03 AM |

If you hadn't already decided on that race thing I would have suggested a trip to Kennedy Space Center to see STS-118 go up. 7/31/2007 8:49:43 AM |

I made this thread in May ... funny to see it revived. Luckily, we've got another free date to cash.
I'd go to the shuttle launch, but last time I tried to drive from Orlando to Cape Canaveral on a launch night, I sat in my car for three hours in standstill traffic. It should only take 45 minutes to drive to Cape Canaveral from Orlando. It was amazing to watch even from my car!
This weekend, we're doing a late-night deep sea shark fishing booze fest, leaving from Cape Canaveral. Then we're going to play with manatees at the Manatee Park on the Banana River. 7/31/2007 9:58:34 AM |

you should switch the order of those events. you should go swim with the manatees, gig them, and then use their carcasses to chum up the water really good for the shark hunting. If you thought manatee burgers tasted good before from being tenderized by boat propellers, you'll fall in love with how tender and juicy they get after being shredded by hungry sharks. 7/31/2007 11:48:51 AM |

True, true ... shredded manatee is the way to go. You North Carolinians think pork BBQ is the nectar of the gods, but porky pig has nothing on the sea cow.
Shredded manatee in a vinegar-based sauce (Eastern NC style) with cole slaw and conch fritters = Florida BBQ Feast! 7/31/2007 12:22:59 PM |
