i dont think calling him the next superstar is really appropriate. I think he probably is already a superstar. 6/1/2007 10:51:00 PM |

jordan at lebron's age was a rookie. also, lebron doesn't have a scottie pippen.
i'm not saying you should go ahead and declare the guy to be the best ever, but i absolutely think lebron has a great chance of being considered the best when he finishes his career. a championship this year would be a good start. 6/2/2007 1:17:35 AM |

enough of the jordan shit. in 5 years there will be at least 2 people going down better than him but probably a hanful. jordan is just way too immortalized. 6/2/2007 10:27:50 AM |

i remember tyron lou (sp?) guarding AI most of that series, not kobe. and lou was a much better defensive player. he was on iverson like glue the whole time. 6/2/2007 12:07:05 PM |

they started with kobe on him in game 1 but kobe wasn't quick enough neither was fox so lue was the only one who could guard him. lue wasn't a great defender he was just the only one quick enough to stay with iverson. 6/2/2007 12:49:25 PM |

you are just wrong. kobe and lebron will go down as great players, but MJ they are not. and i don't know who else is in this handful you speak of. d wade is my favorite player, but he will never surpass jordan. duncan? no way.6/2/2007 2:41:08 PM |

you are just wrong. wilt and russell will go down as great players, but Mikan they are not. you are just wrong. thompson and gervin will go down as great players, but Dave Bing they are not. you are just wrong. jordan and magic will go down as great players, but Dr. J they are not. you are just wrong. kobe and lebron will go down as great players, but MJ they are not.

you bring up some examples to try to make a point...but i don't think it works for you. 6/2/2007 6:27:38 PM |

you apparently dont understand the cyclical nature...that 20 years ago jordan was good but no Dr. J....and that on the playgrounds nowadays kids arent wearing jordan jerseys...but wade and lebron and kobe and carmelo jerseys...cause the shit is generational 6/2/2007 8:14:32 PM |

i understand your point...and i can agree to a certain extent. the best of the best are not tossed about by this cyclical nature. people still acknowledge wilt and russell as 2 of the best, though their primes were 40 years ago. i have no doubt jordan will be the same way. the others you named...dr. j, dave bing, mikan, gervin, DT, and magic will not be viewed in the same way. 6/2/2007 10:47:58 PM |

i dont understand how you can act like your answer can be definitive
have you ever seen wilt, russel, dr j, mikan or any of those play other than clips?
there is really no direct way to compare them and say "top 5 of all time"
you have to do generational things
mikan was prob the best of his generation, wilt/russel in a tight competition for theirs, then dr. j/kareem, then bird/magic, then jordan, then kobe/shaq/duncan 6/2/2007 11:04:00 PM |

exactly...point being, jordan wont always be considered the best ever...aside from the fact that he's far from the best COLLEGE PLAYER (d. thompson, kareem, maravich, even laettner, etc) ever, he's simply the best player of the 90s...best player of all time is generational 6/3/2007 3:54:47 AM |
