My only experience was nobel.com for calls to the netherlands.
I was not displeased. 6/6/2007 12:58:04 AM |

the so called cheap ones that you purchase at gas stations are only cheap the first time you use it. any subsequent use, it takes off a huge chunk of value. 6/6/2007 1:18:01 AM |

go to a spanish grocery store.... who sell pre paid phone cards
they usually have ones with tons of minutes on them...
but usually... most of them give a shit load of minutes but for 1 call
each time you hang up they take off minutes...although there are some that dont but obviously give you less minutes
its hit or miss with some cards... although if you know someone who uses them, then you're golden 6/6/2007 2:24:44 AM |

use freecall , you have to call from a computer, but the lines are really clear. you deposit 10 euros in your account, and then its free to a lot of countries, spain and portugal included. 6/6/2007 5:07:52 AM |

yup, but many of them are area specific so make sure you buy one that is geared toward the Iberian Peninsula
Is Skype a possibility? I know when I've traveled that many internet cafes abroad have Skype enabled and are already hooked up with headsets. If the other party could meet there and one of you could set up a time to call, that would be by far your cheapest option.6/6/2007 7:42:16 PM |

My wife is from Spain, and we use a combination of Skype and http://nobelcom.com/. We have a skype enabled phone in our house, and use the nobelcom.com on cellphones.
Good rates both ways. 6/6/2007 8:24:03 PM |

depends on how many minutes you need...if its a lot, your best bet is definitely a skype phone or something VoIP 6/7/2007 10:36:42 AM |

skype and the like are the best options
otherwise go to the gas station near arby's on hillsborough and look through their stack. 6/8/2007 11:36:31 AM |

the cheapest calling card I have ever bought, and still refill to this day just in case, is my AT&T calling card that I purchased at Sam's Club. 6/8/2007 11:37:55 AM |
