Upgrading, so I'm selling my treo.

I like this phone a lot, the features of a treo are pretty awesome. If you aren't familiar with it, it's a PDA phone. You can download all kinds of free programs (software, games, skins, mp3/video players, etc) on http://mytreo.net/downloads/

I already have an MP3 program, some games, toccer, etc on there
Toccer is a free IM program. Meaning you can IM with your AIM or YAHOO SN and it doesn't cost anything (no paying for every text message or IM message like most phones)
You can check out website and go on the internet, but it's kinda slow (the only reason I'm updating, to be able to use the 3G network)



One thing I like about it is the directory assistant. if you're looking for a phone number you just type in someone's name, or a business name and it looks it up (as long as you have an internet/data plan), then you can click on map or directions as well. I've never been lost since I had this phone.

This phone is several years old, but it's not too worn. It does have some scratches. Feel free to check it out. This phone is great with an internet plan, but if you don't plan on using it to check email, websites, IM, get maps, etc) than it's still pretty neat as just a phone/pda. Entering in data is simple with the QWERT keyboard, or just sync it to your computer and transfer files.


Included: Charger/sync cord, 1 gig mini sd card (I use it just to store a gig of music on my phone), 2 stylus
neither stylus is a palm one and don't fit completely in the treo. The guy i bought this phone from lost his and I didn't care to buy one since I had these from another PDA. They slide into the phone, but stick out over the top a tiny bit.

Not included: The software to sync to computer. Never got it from the guy I bought it from but easy to DL online. I think I got that from mytreo.net as well.

My new phone should be in on Friday, so I'd want to sell this Sunday night. Please don't send me messages with bids, just keep them in here.

how does the battery life still hold up? you said you bought it from someone so its gone through 2 users. just wondering how its holding up.

the battery is really awesome actually.

I know that is one thing I'm going to miss a lot.
When my charger broke and I ordered another off the internet and I went 4 days without a charge.

The battery is huge.

Thorsten I just have a few general questions about the phone because I may order one off of eBay here soon.

When you turn it on each time do you have to enable wireless mode or does it enable automatically by default?

and Second, when sending just your basic text message do you have to exit wireless mode for any reason?

and lastly, can you set mp3's as ringtones or must they be converted into MIDI files?

I've been reading reviews and opinions on this phone and it seems a lot of people are idiots or the phone has some quirks. Thanks man.

the phone doesn't turn off or on... at all.

If you hold the power button on top, it switches it from wireless mode on(phone), or wireless mode off.

you have to be in wireless mode on to call, send messages, etc.
so no, you don't have to exit wireless mode, im pretty sure if you do, you wouldnd't be able to message anyone

(i've basically had mine in wireless mode since i had it... )

As far as I know you CANNOT set MP3s as ringtones. There's a lot of software out there and a lot of programs you can find at http://www.mytreo.net so im sure sooner or later someone will find a way to allow mp3s as ringtones.
I mean, if a phone can play mp3s, its possible.

last question, have you had any problems with it freezing and having to do soft/hard resets and resyncs on a more than should be necessary basis??

not too much.

Every now and then if I was doing too much, online/iming/and a phone call comes in, it might freeze up. you can wait 5 minutes (or longer) for it to fix itself, or you can hit the reset button on the back and it comes back fine.

My GF has had two different treos (only changed because she upgraded) and I can tell you they are durable phones. I thought PDA phones would not hold up that well but she has dropped hers like 50,000 times and it has no problems. The one she had with the Palm OS rarely ever needed to be reset/restarted.

I had the media bundle 200... i think it was called.

it was unlimited internet and something like 200 text messages... for $20 a month.

When I called to transfer to my Blackjack they forced me to go to a PDA plan, that's like the same thing, but twice the cost and they said my treo should not of worked with that plan...

I feel like they just robbed me of another $20 a month, but whatever...

That plan will work fine with the treo (the $20 one)
