Purchased a camcorder from my cousin. It doesn't have the software installation disk. Got some footage on mini-dv tape, would like to upload via USB to my laptop. However, in the process it requires software (sony).
Went to the sony website, typed in the serial number for sw and got like 50 different version. Don't have a clue on what one to choose. And suggestions guys? the model number is DCR-HC46.
I don't have my laptop hooked up to a TV screen so that i could use the rca jacks method. so the usb is my only route for now. Thanks guys. 7/6/2007 8:37:38 PM |

can you use firewire? firewire>>>USB for my Sony DCR-HC26, because USB let me get 320x240 resolution, but Firewire let me get 720x480 or something like that 7/6/2007 8:48:08 PM |

hmmm. just pick one of the 50 that is for a similar camera and see if it works i guess. It will make uncompressed AVIs, so be sure you have the space on your HDD 7/6/2007 8:57:46 PM |
