My comp isnt that slow either.. an Athlon 64 3500 w/ a gig of ram *shrug*.

That's why I use Winamp, and only use iTunes if I must. It runs okay on my computer, but I can definitely tell that it slows down a lot, especially after it's been open for a while.
I use it because I inherited an iPod 7/15/2007 3:33:01 PM |

It seems like it just got really bad in the last few version updates. even 7.0 was ok, but 7.2 and now 7.3 is horrible. i've rebooted twice in the past ten minutes. 7/15/2007 3:37:23 PM |

I would actually say the opposite, I had switched about a year ago to WMP because it seemed to use less resources, but recently iTunes has been much better for me.

there is some incompatibility issue that people here posted about when 7.0 came out. something about changing the sampling frequency or something in quicktime, otherwise itunes would crash and/or make some screeching sound.
just throwing that out there to make sure it isn't that. 7/15/2007 3:45:53 PM |

looks like its ipodservice.exe that at fault. as soon as i kill it everything is coo. unfortunately, it stays open after you close itunes so you have to manually kill it. it didnt do this before so something must be up 7/15/2007 4:06:00 PM |

btw, I went back to 7.2 and its working properly now. I guess it could either be the clean install or somethings wrong w/ 7.3 7/16/2007 9:02:12 AM |

I dunknow- i've had issues with 7.1 and i'm so fed up. I'd go to winamp except I need something that talks to the Ipod, going to be trying anapod when i get back in town and we'll see how that goes. 7/16/2007 12:41:23 PM |
