So last night im reading around with a passanger ~120-130lb and like usual the brakes feel like crap. Honestly I'm really afraid im going to warp the rotors.
I use as much engine braking as possible (downshifting keeping revs high enough to slow pretty quick), but here to the crux of my question.
Is it better to get on the brakes harder (im not saying slam) for a short period of time, or drag them over a long period of time. It would seem to me that dragging them would be better, but figured you guys would know better.
im on a 600cc so its not like i got a busa, combined weight on the bick with me and the passanger is about 330 or so, so its right up there at its capacity rating. 7/17/2007 7:33:39 AM |

don't be afraid to use a lot of rear brakes, and i would reccomend the EBC Double-H Sintered Pads, they made a world of difference on my old magna with rear drum, single front rotor, and will stop my new FJR on a dime with no fade from 100+

Its not fade, Its just feels like I am beating on them like crazy, I dont know, with my grand am it seems like rotors get warped if i look at em funny.
Ive heard that the 600rr rotors warp fairly easily, so thats why im a little bit skurred.
Ohh yea, when i have a passanger i use the rear break alot more (weight means wheel dosnt lock up so easy), otherwise I stick with the fronts and just let the engine take care of the rear.

First off, get rid of the passenger. Second get rid of the stock fluid and third, get ss lines. Why people are afraid of wearing out 100.00 brakes instead of a 1000.00 transmission, I will never understand
