Christ UCLA
Quote : | "UCLA has always been one of the nation's pre-eminent athletic institutes, so coming up with a list of its Top 10 all-time athletes was a challenging one. SIOC, however, was up to the task. We know that our list didn't include greats such as Cobi Jones, Karch Karily, Jimmy Connors and Gail Goodrich -- not to mention the legendary John Wooden, who we’ll make the honorary coach of our team of UCLA greats. But a Top 10 is just that, and we can't include everyone. Here is our list:
10. Florence Griffith-Joyner 9. Arthur Ashe 8. Lisa Fernandez 7. Reggie Miller 6. Troy Aikman 5. Ann Meyers 4. Jackie Robinson 3. Jackie Joyner-Kersee 2. Lew Alcindor 1. Bill Walton " |

Not to sound like a complete dick because Arthur Ashe was no doubt a great man, but Jimmy Connors had a much better career. Unless this is a who's now type of list, Connors should be ahead of Ashe. 7/19/2007 12:14:37 PM |

It's a pretty good bet that any one of those people on UCLA's top 10 would be #1 at 80% of all colleges/universities. 7/19/2007 12:22:37 PM |

and I'm annoyed they didn't put up my Oscar Davenport comment. Just tried another:
Quote : | "I'm stunned there is no mention of Oscar Davenport and Natrone Means, the two best offensive players from the golden era of Tarheel football.
JR Reid embodies UNC basketball more than any other player, and he was left off the list. Eric Montross had one of the most gutsy March performances I have ever seen in leading them to a title...something Jamison, Ford, and Carter never did." |

haha, I was at some big breakfast meeting in Raleigh last year and Walton was the speaker. I wish I had that shit on video, he talked about State the whole time and how Burleson broke his nose twice. All the old state guys were there and were pretty much dying of laughter.7/19/2007 1:54:53 PM |

I cant believe anyone would suggest Vince Carter of all people should be on that list.
Big Game James has to be on that list though get the fuck outta here with Charlotte Smith and Antawn Jamison being better than Worthy. 7/21/2007 12:44:48 PM |
