no, it was new in the box. Discounted of course (as in not $400), but still new in the box.

It really is an excellent camera, I debated on whether to sell it or not

I'll also endorse this camera. I have its successor (the S3 IS) and love it, and from what I've heard there were very few differences between the two other than a bump to 6 MP. The image stabilizer is great if you have the shakyhands condition that sometimes afflicts me.

thanks for the positives for the camera

but they are no longer necessary a nice lady saw it on craigslist and I got the 200 I was asking. Showed her all the functions and all.

So its SOLD
