that is close to campus I have to get my car towed there so i don't want to have to pay much (AAA will tow 3 miles for free).
My original serpentine belt was severed and fell off the pulleys. I replaced it and it was working fine when I turned the car on. As soon as I put the car into gear, my new belt was severed. I don't what else to do so I have to get someone else to repair it. I have a 97 Ford Escort station wagon btw. Yes I know that Escorts are terrible but my mom let me borrow it for the summer so my g/f can use it. 7/20/2007 3:19:10 PM |

Hey, at least it's not a Dodge Strap-on.
I think several of the guys here would probably recommend Mission Valley 66.
Or you could try White-Wall up on Hillsborough. 7/20/2007 3:47:04 PM |

Sorry I never could get up with you on fixing that, just had so much stuff come up.

I concur, I used to work there. Talk to Tommy, the owner, tell him Keith sent you over there.7/20/2007 5:09:59 PM |

How much you think this repair will run me?
Just a rough number if you got one. 7/20/2007 5:47:52 PM |

^ how the does anyone come up with a price range without a clue whats wrong... could be the alternator, a/c clutch bearings, or p/s pump locked up or a tensioner/idler issue..... price range being $100+ that said... go out there and turn all the pulleys and see what dosent move... or if anything is at a funny angle and report back for a better idea of the situation 7/20/2007 6:45:00 PM |

if i had to guess, I would say the pulley has probably separated from the balancer, happens a lot on those

does anyone know another number for Mission Valley 66?
I've been calling the 919-832-5383 number but I've gotten a busy signal for the last 2 days
If not, what's another good mechanic?
It doesn't necessarily have to be around campus. I live near Lake Johnson and need to go to a palce <5 miles away if possible.

They had to replace the balancer
It cost me $244 but they fixed it pretty fast
What's another mechanic cheaper than Mission Valley 66 around Raleigh? It doesn't necessarily have to be next to campus. I have to replace an axle on my 98 Sentra. I can still drive it but not for long distances. 7/31/2007 3:53:28 PM |

damn i'm good
mission valley is about the cheapest place around that does good quality work, if i remember right, i think cv axles were around $130 parts, and $50-75 labor depending on the car8/2/2007 12:20:48 PM |
