So I bought the jeep and have put 40k miles on it. I noticed it had a knock/ticking/wobble (hard to describe it) type of sound out of the right rear. At first, I'd only hear it when going around right turns. Now I hear it, and it's slightly louder just going down the highway over bumps and things. I can grab the rear wheel and rock it and hear a popping sound, so I assume its the wheel bearing?
Any ideas how much a shop will charge? I've been meaning to do it myself with my uncles tools (and his assitance), but he is 3 hrs away and I'm getting to the point where the time invest to drive home and do it might not be worth it if the cost isn't too crazy here in Raleighwood. 8/3/2007 7:54:18 AM |

shouldn't be any more than 1-1.5 hours of labor per side.

Oh hell. I dunno why I thought it would be more involved/costly than that. Would have gotten this shit fixed a long time ago. 8/11/2007 3:29:19 PM |

The book says 1.5 hours labor. You could be looking at more depending on where you take it because the bearing is pressed (unless i'm mistaken). 8/15/2007 11:58:55 PM |
