Okay, so I don't know how, but my AIM just got hacked (quickly changed all my other passwords)
It doesn't show me online, IMs are being forwarded to my mobile.
However AIM says my password is incorrect and logged me out from my location. I am unable to get the password reset tool to operate, it says the e-mail address I've entered is incorrect.
Does anybody know a way to find a person at AIM?
I've had this screen name for over 15 years, I'm not a stupid internet user, heck most of my chats are encrypted with Adium too, there's got to be some way to get this back. 8/6/2007 5:07:52 PM |

double check that your aim name isnt actually logged in somewhere else. as far as i know, you cant change your email associated with your s/n so maybe try that tool from a diff computer... 8/6/2007 11:35:35 PM |

I've got friends watching my account, none of them have seen me log online. I've stayed mobile the entire time.
Sunday night I switched IM Forwarding to my new mobile number, then randomly at 4p Monday afternoon I was logged out and my password was changed.
I've had no luck getting this to work, fucking sucks ass. 8/7/2007 9:35:02 AM |

Sounds to me like it wasn't so much a hacker as much as it was you screwing up your account.
Why would someone want to hack your AIM, and if they did why would it still be mobile?
Have you tried password reset? https://account.login.aol.com/opr/_cqr/opr/opr.psp?lang=en&locale=us 8/7/2007 3:16:30 PM |

Duncan I've tried password reset, says the e-mail isn't valid. The system SHOWS me mobile however none of the IMs are being delivered to my phone. Now the system doesn't allow me to log into anything.
neon I tried calling a few of those numbers (especially the tech support ones) and NONE of them give support for AIM. I eventually got somebody willing to fill out a report, they e-mailed me saying to go to the password reset, and I told them that in the report they responded to it said that the password reset doesn't work.
Basically have said fuck it all, created a new screen name, lost half my damn buddy list, and am going on with life. 8/9/2007 10:33:33 AM |
