I'm getting out of the dorms and need a new queen size bed, but don't want to buy a used one. Does anyone know where to get some cheap/wholesale beds near campus?

check the newspaper classifieds.

you can get a decent mattress for dirt cheap, brand new still in plastic, from independent dealers who usually sell them out of monthly storage units.

I got mine at the Furniture Wholesalers place on Glenwood. Right next to Rooms To Go, big yellow sign.

He already said he didn't want a used one. What makes you think he'd want to buy anything with a "mattress mistake" on it?

Some Big Lots stores have mattresses for pretty cheap, but I don't know what kind of quality they'd be. If you have a Sam's club membership I think you can get one there for $300, and probably about the same with other warehouse stores.

Fred's Beds
Original Mattress Warehouse

But you get what you pay for with a mattress. A good one thats taken care of (supported on a boxspring, rotated regularly) will last a long time.

Original Mattress factory. Bought a new queen bed last year for $400. They had a cheaper model, but this one seemed much mo better. Sams actually was more expensive, only had sertas at my store and they were $500 plus. The OMF mattress has been great.

there's no mistakes, they are just mismatched-the boxspring and mattress don't match.
I got mine at the fair swap meet a few years back under one of the big tents

Sometimes Sears or JC Penney's will have reasonable prices. Worth a look.

seriously you don't want a cheap bed
they won't last long and you won't sleep well when it goes bad.

original mattress co. makes good shit but its not super cheap.

Go see my boy Ron Trzcinski at the Original Mattress Factory. He will hook you up, cuz they cut out the middleman, selling hundreds below the national average.
