I just want one feature:
the ability to send a Sametime to someone without having to add them to your buddy list. Just enter an userID, it can do an LDAP lookup, and boom, message sent.

meebo ftw. multi-im client, no install, no updates to worry about, and works fantastically. more features will be added over time (i would assume), eg, av chat. 8/14/2007 9:39:51 AM |

Can you archive your chats in Meebo? What about custom status messages or Applescript integration? 8/14/2007 9:40:58 AM |

chats are automatically archived. and custom away messages. i dunno about the apple script integration. however, the meebo team is very responsive to user feedback/suggestions, so email them will a legit feature and they might just do it.

nice...so they store chats on their servers? I tried meebo on my iPhone, but it wasn't very functional.
Try eBuddy.com
It works very well on the iPhone, not sure about Windows. 8/14/2007 9:45:31 AM |

yeah, the chats are stored on their servers, and obviously you can opt out of a chat archive by 'going off record'. i would love a free chat client for me smartphone, lol. i will def try this ebuddy. meebo on a pc is fantastic, and probably just the same in your mac. the meebo team are really down to earth people, read their blogs, and they always are doing fun stuff, and have a very fun office to work in.
