i got a new car almost 3 weeks ago, it came with 6 months of sirius service (included in the car price).
is there a way to look in the radio for whatever code I would need to have to activate a portable sirius radio if i wanted to do so? 8/15/2007 11:26:21 AM |

Don't buy the lifetime sub. for that car unless you plan on keeping the car for a lifetime.
"Lifetime" means "for the life of that particular receiver," not your lifetime. In other words, you can't transfer your "lifetime subscription" to a new Sirius receiver should you buy one. 8/15/2007 12:04:34 PM |

neg, you can transfer the subscription up to 3 times--there's a $75 fee 8/15/2007 12:27:14 PM |

yeppers
basically, if you keep the car for 3.5 years you'll break even with a lifetime subscription compared to month-to-month, and every time you transfer your break-even point increases by 6 months

Wow, wasn't aware of that fee...still a horrible deal.
Sirius not only has a horrible lineup IMO, the sound quality is just lacking. The difference in low-end between Sirius and a CD/MP3 is very noticeable to me 8/15/2007 2:28:24 PM |

how is a 3.5 year breakeven point a terrible deal? lot better than paying 13/mo for the rest of your life.
[Edited on August 15, 2007 at 10:26 PM. Reason : im at the 2.5 year mark on mine, but mine isnt cemented into my car.] 8/15/2007 10:26:31 PM |
