went to play my favorite game last night and got this "error" twice:
started playing today and it did it again. this time my monitor said signal not found when i was booting it up.
I updated the drivers and that doesn't seem to help. 8/25/2007 1:10:45 PM |

Look on the bright side... you get to buy a new, better, card now. 8/25/2007 2:01:07 PM |

last resort you might want to check the actual card in the case to make sure that it is making good contact. I had that problem a long time ago and it was so frustrating because it was somewhat random with nothing I did making any difference. Turns out it was screwed on a little too tight and over a few years the edge of the card was slowly pulling out of it's slot and was not making good contact.
Re-seated the card and it worked like a charm 8/25/2007 4:38:38 PM |

^On the same note, excess dust can actually play a part in temporary shorts that cause graphical glitches like that ... so dust away.
Or it could be a heat issue, make sure your heat sink fans are working properly. 8/26/2007 1:05:43 AM |
