Blasting your vintage funk, indie rock, obscure foreign music, or whatever at 11 a.m. on a Wednesday does NOT make you cool. It makes you a hipper-than-thou douche bag.

"Welcome to a music store"? And you wonder why people are downloading music? Welcome to the unemployment line--soon--asshole.

PS: You fucked up the start of my birthday.

DAMN if music in a music store ruins your day you must be a ball of fun to hang out with......

DAMN if instead of telling the guy behind the counter his music was too loud you ran all the way to your comp to complain about it on TWW......

I remember when Best Buy bought up that huge chain of mall CD stores right before CD burners became completely mainstream. I bet some execs got fired for that decision.

In less than a year they were beginning to close them down.

Way to make assumptions. I actually made him turn the volume down--and I asked only that it be turned down a little--but he still protested and gave me the lame "Welcome to a music store" line. I guess they don't teach customer-service skills at Schoolkids.

^ I preferred Record Exchange.

WHO ASKS FOR THE MUSIC TO BE TURNED DOWN IN A MUSIC STORE

seriously

i am honestly asking

someone, please, tell me what planet this guy is from

record exchange as a record store fucking sucked...the guy who ran it (on hillsborough) was a dick, the selection sucked, and the prices were way too high...but they had an open stage and an inflatable UNKLE thingamabob

wow. someone needs to chill.

i am interested to know what you think we should be playing though. im guessing whatever was being played wasn't even that obscure or anything. one of the points of a record store is that you can come in and (hopefully) find out about new music somehow. people end up buying what we play in the store all the time. there are some employees that will play noise/drone/whatever records at loud volume, but usually at night. btw it wasn't me working.

and what's wrong with old funk music

haha it was otis redding. SOOOOO obscure
