i'm looking at getting some new wheels for my jeep cherokee and need to know the measurements. the wheels i have right now are p215/75 R15's. how does that convert to a 15x? measurement such as 15x8 or 15x7 and what offset would i need because that's all they are showing on the american racing site. oh yeah and if anyone knows anyone who has a used set of the wagon wheel series 44 rim in the size i need that would be awesome.

15x6.5, 5 on 5.5, and 3.25" backspace more than likely

what size tire are you going to? take a wheel off, lay a straight edge across the rear bead, measure to the hub, thats your backspacing, measure bead to bead, thats your width, turn the wheel lock to lock and check all your clearance if you have more on one side than the other you need to adjust for the new backspacing, if it is the same then divide the difference in rim widths by 2 and add it to the current backspacing

you mostly likely have a 15x7 rim with 5.5 inches of backspacing. that is what most stock jeep rims are, other than the 15x8 canyons that came with the 30" tj tire package or the 16x8's found on the rubicon. what new tires are you looking at? same size or going bigger?

right now i plan on sticking with the same size tire. i don't think i could go much bigger without a lift, and i like the idea of getting somewhat decent gas mileage.

You could put a 235/75R15 on there without any scrubbing. It's only about an inch bigger. I think that's the standard tire upgrade that most people put on after the factory tires wore out. The newer Cherokees probably came standard with them and they may have offered a 30x9.50 from the factory anyway.
