I'm spending quite a lot of money on a new system and I'm nearing completion. Just wanted to go ahead and get rid of my current rig before finishing up the new one.

Specifications:

AMD64 Athlon 3000+
1 Gb RAM
ATI Radeon 9550 256Mb
80Gb Hard Drive (with Windows XP Professional)
*BRAND NEW* CD-R/RW Burner with DVD Playback (basically... burns cdr/w, plays dvd)

On a side note, the case is a custom built case out of wood. I built the case this summer and it is unfinished (there is no side panel). I would be happy to include a new case with a slight increase in price being that I'd have to order the case special. However, there is *nothing* wrong with the case it's in and the computer is perfectly fine running in a wood case.

I'm asking $400.00 without a new case, $450.00 with a new case. Price is negotiable, however highest offer will decide the new owner.

All offers can be emailed to <mdwheele@ncsu.edu>

Thanks!

As I stated before, price is very negotiable... As I am new to the retail computing market... having never sold a computer... I would not know what the best price for a PC would be now would I? 200-300 is a very acceptable range for a decently spec'd computer with a working copy of XP (a 120 value alone)

btw: stop trolling, like you have anything better do... how bout getting out of college? ITT we discuss serious offers for a computer...

[Edited on September 4, 2007 at 10:32 AM. Reason : trollz]

ps: sure you can build a piece of shit on newegg for about the same or lower price... but when you throw together bullshit memory, bullshit mobo, bullshit video card for like 200 bux... guess what you get... bullshit.

[Edited on September 4, 2007 at 10:34 AM. Reason : again...]

And sorry for wrong section, I'll move it... first time poster on TWW

So if you're saying that your parts aren't 'bullshit cheap parts' like that which you could make on newegg for less then you'd better tell us what makes your stuff so much better instead of those generic specs.

so lets see you have a video card that woudl be okay 3 years ago ~25 bux
processor and motherboard ~80 bux
ram worth ~25-50 bux
had drive ~30 bux (your windows copy is worth jack shit)
cd dvd reader is worth ~25

so you might on the TOP end be talking like $185-$210.

Hate to break it to you but I think the $50 estimate is pretty legit. I'm also thinking about getting a new computer for gaming and have considered selling my current system. I've got you beat in every category and I could see myself getting less than $100.

An ATI Radeon 9550 isn't going to last much longer. In fact I'd classify it as out already because games like Bioshock require Pixel Shader 3.0. It'll probably be the norm here soon.

ok chief, since you wanted to try and step up to the mic, here's a non-bargin bin version of your computer

Motherboard: $73
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131042

CPU: $66
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103029

RAM: $70
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148129

HDD: $42
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148236

Video Card: $40
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102484

CD-DVD Burner (better than your CD only burner): $28
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106050

Case w/ 350W power supply: $30
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148236

So that's $350 bucks to have everything brand spanking new. Includes quality brands like ASUS, Lite-On, Sapphire, Crucial, and Seagate. Now, you're offering a computer that has been used for who knows how long, a crappier optical drive, and you're going to actually try and come off like you're the toughnuts? What are the brands on all of your crap...

Hell, you could even spend another $50 bucks on the case and get something much nicer for the same as your asking price.

I find it interesting how hot some of you get over some of the most trivial things... If you want it, fine... if you don't, obtain some instance of a life.

Just so you know.

I think it's mainly because you're trying to say that your pc is somehow made of top of the line parts and should be worth more than it is, when you won't even tell us what kind of RAM, what kind of motherboard, what kind of hard drive, and what cas...........oh wait you've got one you built out of wood. I'm sure that is fantastic for heat dissipation there. And on that note you haven't even told us anything about the power supply.

So basically we're calling bullshit...
