My neighbor has a BMW M3 Sedan... Yeah...

It's got the M3 badging in what looks to be the right spots, but it has four doors. I just wanted to clear up whether such a breed of beamer actually exists, or if it's just some ricor rebadging.

Funny thing is, I think I saw this exact car for sale on craigslist as an M3 sedan... And before anyone asks, it's definitely not an M5, it's got M3 badging on it... I'll post the craigslist ad if I find what I was talking about in a sec...

Oh, sweet. My lazy internet searching didn't tell me anything.

Guess that ends this thread... :E

It was offered in 97 and 98. Quite rare. I've had 3, and the craigslist ad you saw was possibly mine. I removed my trunk M3 badge however, so I'm the opposite of your neighbor. I also have after market wheels/suspension (so it sits lower as well). I've had a lot of people ask me what I had done to my 325i, so you're not alone in assuming this car wasn't made by BMW. In fact, BMW factory teams often raced the sedan...

Haha, thanks.

My neighbor lowered his too, I think. He's got some different looking wheels on it today too... New toy I believe.

It's a nice car, he just parks it too close to mine.

His choice though. If he wants to bang his doors into my crappy jeep he can feel free, it'll devalue his toy more than mine.

Thanks to all for the info and thanks for the pics.

It would look good except for all that German gibberish on the front bumper.

They also made an E36 M3 convertible in 98-99, according to the September Car & Driver. Only 8,444 M3 sedans were sold.
