I have one stick of RAM from TigerDirect.com I want to sell. I tried to use it once and it's incompatible with my machine, thank you HP. So, I want to see if anyone here wants to buy it.

That's the stick, exactly what I have. It's brand new, box & lifetime warranty. If I send it back to TG, they charge a 15% restock fee, and I have to pay shipping. It comes out to $55 after tax and delivery, or $49 if you get it in the store. I want $40 so I can buy the right RAM.
The site says 5400, but the box says 5300, the same with my other stick and my motherboard. I think 5400 and 5300 are the same thing.
Except for in HP machines, Ultra memory is a decent, reliable brand that is compatible with most anything. If you are building a computer or upgrading it to play a game, this RAM should work for you. Also, this stick has a built-in heatsink on each side that is supposed to improve performance.
Specs:
1 GB = 1024 MB; 667 MHz; DDR2 PC5400; CAS Latency of 4
Item # on TigerDirect is ULT40051 if the link doesn't work.

There are a lot of those for less then $10-$15 on deals right now. http://www.buy.com/prod/crucial-1gb-pc2-5300-667mhz-240-pin-ddr2-memory/q/loc/101/201676508.html from buy.com - $20 after Mail in Rebate and btw shipping is free.
So, what about $20 cash for it? 9/11/2007 11:31:41 PM |

Well, if the brand on sale was Ultra, I'd consider it. The Ultra stuff performs better, has better compatibility, and has a lifetime warranty. I want money for something I've already bought, not to buy something new.
Besides, I'd get more than $20 from TG after 15% restock. 9/13/2007 2:12:46 AM |

^^Also, the stick you linked to isn't available right now. And you have to use Budget to qualify for free shipping if the item has that icon. I don't trust Budget, but if you do, then buy the Crucial stick as soon as it's in stock, get the rebate, and get the free shipping. That seems like a better deal for you, since you don't mind waiting an extra 3-5 days with a budget company. 9/13/2007 2:47:05 PM |

Can you not take it to the store on capital to avoid shipping? I'd imagine you'd still get the restock fee but do it in person with a receipt and you might be able to avoid it all. If you've already checked this out and you have to ship it to a warehouse then gg. 9/18/2007 12:59:06 AM |
