Zelda (NES): My mom and I ripped through that game twice. It was awesome.
Gauntlet Legends (PS1): Dad loved it, because he had a nostalgia trip everytime he picked up the controller.
Akuji: The Heartless (PS1): For some reason, this game was the only one that ever interested my stepmother. She loved watching me play it more than she played herself, though.
BattleToads (Genesis): My aunt fell in love with this game when I was young. Everytime I spent time at my cousin's house, we'd fire it up and take turns. 9/11/2007 4:27:37 PM |

My dad would always watch me play Zelda, then try and start his own character and play. Half of the time he would ask me for help and what he was supposed to do...I also don't think he ever completed one...
My mom was ALL about Dr. Mario...she could kill anyone at that game...pretty crazy

Hell, I've actually played some Multiplayer Halo 2 with my dad as recently as a couple of months ago. And he's 60.
We went through Zelda together when I was a kid. Later we played Myst at the same time, but different games. We've played some of the wireless games on the new Super Mario Bros on DS (he has his own DS Lite and PSP, and also a modded Xbox) We also played wireless multiplayer Tiger Woods and Need for Speed on the PSP. I think that's about it. 9/11/2007 5:06:52 PM |

Seriously, I hate it when older people believe video games have no worth whatsoever. My dad did take interest in the Menacer for the Sega Genesis because it game with some game where you could blow up tanks and planes and shit.
The only thing they thought video games were good for was hurting my grades and they still think that.9/11/2007 5:23:16 PM |

Trying to think back I dont think I ever played any video games with my parents. My mom used to sit and watch me when i'd play zelda or chrono trigger/cross or FFVII just cause she thought they were pretty cool.
My dad and I would play Jeopardy or something that didn't really involve much action. My dad never has been big into video games...except for one..
Super Black Bass for the SNES. He used to be so into that game that i'd come home and he'd be posted up 5 feet in front of the tv and would scream when he lost a "lunker". He was so into it he kept his passwords in a notepad in his top right desk drawer. 9/11/2007 5:33:55 PM |

non. I was the first and only person in my family to play any video games. However my much older cousin's husband was the one who got me into SimCity (original) when i'd visit them in Cali. So i guess you could say simcity.
Question is, what will we be like with our kids? Considering we are the first generation to really play video games as kids. I'm guessing most of us are going to frag the hell out of our kids in halo 10 and Counter Strike: Source 2

my dad loves some flight sim games. he was a FA-18 NFO and cant get enough of just sitting there flying the thing for 3 hours, hitting the drop bomb button, flying back for 3 hours and landing on the carrier at night.
i liked taking off, turning around and lighting up the carrier, it was way to boring flying to the enemy 9/11/2007 6:48:08 PM |

Super Mario Bros. 2 - the only game my mom ever beat Tetris Attack - I got her into this one Mario Kart - We played that some
Dad
Street Fighter II - I remember he played it a little Command and Conquer - He really dug this one Chessmaster - complete waste of money, we had a lot more fun playing real chess F-Zero - He really liked this one a lot too
Of course, now the ultimate is Wii Sports. Just about everyone gets into that. 9/11/2007 10:29:17 PM |

She also use to play some Tetris Attack, her and my older brother would play me, it wasn't much of a contest, haha.

sure you say you are going to dominate your kid, but go back and play some of those NES and SNES games you grew up on and used to easily beat...they are hard as shit now
If my kids get into video games, I have a feeling i'll be the one losing...besides, it'll all be motion anyway and a 7 year old kid has more energy than a 36 year old man, lol9/12/2007 10:06:45 AM |

^They were hard as shit because you couldn't save the games. Every time you played you had to go through them level by level, eventually to the point where you could tear through the first ones without even thinking. Have any of you guys ever played the original Altered Beast? I had this game for the Master System (my brother had the NES and I got stuck with the Master System) and it was hard as hell. I fired it up on an emulator a few years ago and after playing for a week or so the first level was cake but the rest were really hard. 9/12/2007 10:46:00 AM |
