I'm not doing the TV shit but this needs to be up for tonight.

WVU and Maryland from College Park on ESPNHD.

This is a pretty good rivalry game that doesn't get it's due nationally. Since being hired both Rich Rod and Fridge are 52-24 and the alltime series is 22-21 (left out ties) in WVUs favor.

Last year Slaton and White made Maryland look silly for the entire game. Most think Maryland has one of the top defense in the ACC this year with size and speed. It should be interesting to see how this game plays out.

I think WVU wins by 17 but that depends on if WVU opens up the playbook and throws down field a bit. I'm surprised they don't as Pat White has one hell of an arm that Rodriguez doesn't take advantage of enough. Tonight, I think he does.

Look for Reynaud to have a HUGE game..

^ You went with the under against a team with Steve Slaton and Pat White(?), WVU may put up 62 on their own

I have my reasoning, and never underestimate the linesmakers realizing that is what most people think. If both teams come out and execute their game plan maryland will still lose, but will keep WVU off the field just enough. 38-17 WVU

Although ND is bad enough to where they still might find a way

Ditto on the OP's comments on the WVU-UMD rivalry, I'm at school at WVU right now and this game is BIG up here.

If WVU can contain Maryland's downfield passing game then this should be a W for the Mountaineers. There were points during the Marshall game where it looked like they could throw anywhere into the WVU secondary and it would be a 20-30 yd gain, until they were able to get a bit of pressure on the QB late in the game. I mean it's fuckin MARSHALL for shits sake.

Watch for frosh Noel Devine to have an impact, dude is like 5-8 and is an absolute BEAST.

got WVU at -16.5 .. Marshall hung in with WVU in the first half last week but 2nd half was a different story.. I don't think WVU lets that happen again.. oh and fuck Maryland, I hope they lose by 50.

looks like ESPN has decided to adopt the blue line for line of scrimmage, but they haven't added it for all the sideline cameras, unlike the yellow line

Ralph "The Hut" Friedgen barking out the Twerps Offensive plays makes me laugh too much. It worked, TD Maryland

Someone needs to put up the usual photoshops of him

A lot of people have called Devine the next Reggie Bush (college version). He's a bit smaller than Bush but has the same elusiveness and moves..

^^^ I edited that before you responded... nice try though.

[Edited on September 13, 2007 at 10:13 PM. Reason : slaton/devine is as good as mcfadded/jones... pat white is the difference.. wvu running > ark runnin]

^^ I still have McFadden and Jones above them

Slaton and Devine play against a LOT easier defenses and have a system completely designed for the run

hell, McFadden will probably end up with more passing attempts than White this year.

well, if you mean WVU running game is > than Arkansas running game than yes.

if you mean Slaton+Devine talent is > McFadden+Jones talent, then I disagree

basically if they magically swapped teams, and everything else remained the same, I think McFadden and Jones' stats would go up at WVU, and Slaton and Devine's would go down at Ark

Well, that is what I mean. I think they are as good. Really can't tell who is better given the different schedules... though WVU has ran all over an SEC Champ and a decent SEC defense with Slaton/White.

I think the Big East defenses are underrated for the most part though. Rutgers, Cincy and USF all have real fast/good defenses but obviously not top level SEC quality...

I meant that White puts them over the top though like you said... plus White has a damn good arm (minor league pitcher caliber -- he was drafted twice by the angels...) but for some reason Rodriguez doesn't let him use it enough..

^ ran all over them cause its a weird gimmick offense that isnt used in the sec, closest thing is florida but thats not even really similar. if they played the sec every game, someone would figure it out. its like the option, one team coming in and playing a random sec team in the middle of the season, and the option will fuck with them... but if an sec team used the option every single game for years they would get used to it, have more time/expereince to game plan it etc
