The best of the bunch is goign to be red room/hi5 or white collar crime, but that isn't saying a whole lot. Actually Hi5 wasn't bad the last time I was there a year or so ago.

i'm just curious cause when i think dance club, i don't think of sluts dressed in 3" skirts spreading their pussy's for any dude with a cock and a pulse to rub up on. I'm more of an electronic club go-er (i actually don't go to any clubs that play rap or hip hop music, i'm just not a fan of it. If you are talking electronica dance though, i'm interested as well.

Mosquito - I went there for the first time a couple weekends ago. It was pretty good. Nice interior and plenty of good looking people dancing.

Buckheads - loud with live music. Pretty large.

There are a bunch of bars opening up soon at the Depot, which is next to Ess.

my first preference would be electronic music as well.....
the only place i found was on one of the dance floors at the office.....the other dance floor was for hip hop

bogarts is pretty good for live music but it's hit or miss depending on who's playing, and again...live music though.....

^ i dont think you'll find the Five-O. it was a joke. that was the biggest dive of a "dance club" on hillsborough street back in the late 90's early 00's. goddamn that was a great place to get trashed and hit up on Meredith chicks.

what about "The West End" on the west side of downtown, near the RR tracks? that place was pretty cool... small dance floor, but good drinks and cool crowd... is it still around?

Go to ESS, Mosquito and The Office. They are all with in walking distance. White Collar Crime isn't really a good place for dancing.

Mosquito is fun the first couple of times until you realize the same music gets played every weekend.

DJ Son of Sam is playing at Bogart's on Fridays and Saturdays now and he is fantastic. In my opinion, he's the best DJ in Raleigh.

Are there any good 18+ places in Raleigh on Saturday night?
One of my friends from meredith wants to go to the club but they are not 21 so they can not go to most places. We went to pi bar last Sat. but it has severely gone downhill since when it opened.

Preferably a place with more of a college student crowd not a hip hop crowd.

For those looking for electronica music, and pure dance clubs, we do parties with headliner DJs about once every month or so at different places.

Our next event is Saturday, Oct. 13 with DJ Micro from NYC. He spins trance. We have local DJs spinning House, Trance, Breaks and Progressive Breaks as well. The party is at LC's (at the end of the road past Ess and White Collar Crime.)


Our parties are all about having a blast...no dress code, etc.

as shitty as it is, as horrible as the music is, the crowd, etc, the Longbranch is the only actual club in Raleigh. everything else is just a martini or tapas bar that happens to move around some tables to make a "dance floor" so people can go out there for half a song every 20 minutes.

The only night when you will hear electronic music at Mosquito is on Wednesday night. They host the "Atmosphere" party then.

Fridays are a mixed bag, and Saturdays they are packed with people dancing to Top-40 hip-hop.

They are 21+, a most places are theses days ...it is just too risky to have those under 21 in, cause even if they get drunk somewhere else, and do something stupid in your club, that club gets the fine (up to $2,000) if they get busted.

ok so here's how Saturday night went....

we started off at Mosquito....music was poor....everyone standing around not dancing....more like caribbean/latin music.....club decor was nice though...small club

we gave up at 12 and headed to ESS Lounge......music was great, but the usual problem of small dance floor...no room to dance....

hit the office at 1 and danced electronica till 2.....

based on my experience, i wouldn't go back to mosquito again unless there's gonna be a good DJ
