from the previews it looks like the best of the 3 to me. i think the first one is pretty retarded, the second one was better, but still not good.

It's more action than horror I would say. In fact I forgot this might be considered horror and had to not watch the screen during all the real freaky horror movie previews.

I don't know what it is about zombies in general and RE zombies in particular but I don't find them that scary. Although there is a lot of..."oh my got somethings going to jump" moments like every five minutes in this movie...it was to the point of ridiculousness at one stretch.

^^Yea I definitely think it was more action than horror, but I think that was the premise of the movie in any case. A lot of 'make you jump' parts but it was about as much horror as a dark video game.

And its ALWAYS alaska time matt. I wonder what happened...

it made me jump... but it was still more action.

I enjoyed it.... wish a little more had happened to further the plot tho.

i've, thusfar, heard nothing but good things about this movie from my friends...

i might actually go see it...

does it require seeing the first RE movies?

Short answer: no.

Seeing the others movies aren't required as long as you know that Umbrella Corporation made the T-virus (turns humans into zombies), the virus escaped, and the main character (Alice aka Milla) is a product of their program.

That said, it would help seeing the first movie to see the significance of the beginning of this one. All you need to know about the second is that the caravan originated in it. I didn't see the first one, couldn't remember anything of the second and it still made sense to me.

i liked it. nothing special, just some good fighting and a few good jumps.

definitely an improvement from the second one. a lot of the gore was still CGI... which sucks. i miss having REAL fake blood/wounds in movies. CGI just isn't the same...

only thing that bugs me is that they didn't seem to follow the whole "if a zombie kills you, you become a zombie." they seemed more wrapped up in the "if a zombie wounds you, you become a zombie." and the birds seem to be an exception to both rules.

I was surprised that there was no 'watch them being eaten' scenes, ala the 1960's Day of the Dead where human mock ups where torn apart quite gruesomely for the camera, but maybe that's something with the current movie scene in general.

I'm gonna have to find I and II from a torrent or something.

^As far as I know the popular (movies) zombie lore is that once bitten by a zombie you become one due to infection from their condition, or in Resident Evil's case, contracting the T-virus. Explains why the birds got the condition too.

yea the zombie dosent have to kill you

i just hate in movies how the more important folks seem to live a couple days longer to turn than the others, haha

i thought the acting was ridiculously bad, but the zombie killing made up for it.

RE:Apocalypse is one of my top five favorite movies. I can't believe how horribly disappointed I am in this movie. Everything was a stupid cliche, the whole post-apocalyptic desert dweller thing was played out by the time Earnhardt Jr. got around to it. 2/10

never said they have to kill you.

but they seemed to follow the "if they attack/kill you, you'll become one" in the original. they did it with at least one of the grunts.

No, but he was in a Bud commercial that feature typical post-apocalyptic desert road dwelling mutants.
