bring to boil 1/3 gallons of water. Place 2 tea bags into pot and let boil for 30-45 seconds. Remove pan from burner, and let it sit for around a minute or so. Pour pot into gallon jug, filling the rest of the jug with more water. Mix in 2 cups of sugar, and BAM!

i put 5 of the small lipton teabags in a coffee maker (where the filter and coffee grounds normally go). sprinkle a little baking soda on top of the teabags. run 10 cups of water through the coffee maker. pour into a gallon pitcher with 2 cups of sugar. stir until the sugar is dissolved and add cold water until it fills the gallon pitcher.

straight from my granny's kitchen

wtf, you people do all sorts of complicated shit

Put 3-4 Lipton Family (can't remember) tea bags in 2 cups of water, microwave for 2 minutes. Pour one cup of sugar into a jug. Squeeze out the tea bags and pour the concentrated 2 cups into the sugar. Fill the jug with cold water, stir, ready to serve.

my new time & effort saving method

bowl of h20 with two large tea bags (FL brand, ftw)- microwave 5min
let steep for a while...
pour concentrated tea into pitcher
add ~1/2 cup sugar, stir until sugar dissolved
fill pitcher with cold h20. stir.
place in fridge until chilled

perfectly refreshing- not too sweet

Country Time Lemonade mixed in sounds absolutely awful- but I hate lemon flavored teas.
2 cups of sugar in Granny's tea, huh? WOW... just wow.

When I'm on a budget I just use the 2 family size, but when I need good tea (like with the fresh lemon wedge) I have to use 4 bags.

However, I'm a hot tea fan - and i go green, herb, and black - they're all uber tasty with fresh fruit rind and honey, maybe a cube or 2 of sugar. Salivating just typing this... geez.

fill small saucepan with water, drop 2 family size teabags into it, bring to boil on stove, as soon as it boils i turn the burner off and let it steep.

in the meantime i have dissolved 3/4 cup of sugar in hot water in my pitcher.

once the tea has steeped i pour the tea into pitcher and top off with cold water

baking soda helps with the tannins in the tea, it keeps it from souring. Bojangles tea does this after about a day and a half, they need baking soda

I sorta feel sorry for people like you

it's funny how you declare how bad certain things taste, despite the fact that people clearly enjoy them

you see

it's not that these or other beverages (and foods, for that matter,) actually taste bad

it's that your brain is somehow retarded and therefore unable to enjoy life's myriad subtle pleasures

think about it

most people enjoy tea, coffee and/or booze, and it's not because they're crazy or unable to taste properly

you're the one missing out on this obviously pleasurable world of flavor

didn't you ever wonder what it would be like to enjoy the way these things taste?

wouldn't life be easier and more pleasurable if you didn't have to censor your palette?

oh, and btw

i wouldn't be surprised to learn that sewage, urine and bile and terms used to describe the bouquet of fine wines

two lipton tea bags in boiling water on stove...steep for 5 minutes. i have no idea how much sugar it is, but it's just like my grandma told me "put your pinky in the bottom of the pitcher, and fill with sugar from the tip of your pinky finger to the first line on your joint"...pour in tea from stove, stir, fill the pitcher with ice water til full.

Boil half a gallon of water. Steep 3 family sized bags of Louzianne for a few minutes. Add two cups of sugar and mix it in till it dissolves. Add ice cubes to fill the tea to the top, and to be able to instantly drink it in its cooled state.

boil a half a gallon of water. take off stove and put in a large lipton tea bag. let sit for a few minutes. Add 1/3 cup of sugar. you want sweet tea, not tea colored syrup. Also, why does bojangles tea always taste like it is about 3 days old?

I use 7 family-size Luzianne bags, and let it steep for 7 minutes. Add a random amount of Splenda and fill the rest of the jug with water.

"7 and 7" is the rule I was taught.

Black tea should be steeped at 95°C for 3-5 minutes for maximum caffeine extraction and minimal bitterness. boiling it and steeping it longer than that releases tannins. maybe some of you love that astringent taste in your tea, but if you didn't do that, maybe you wouldn't have add 4 tablespoons of sugar per cup.

Boil 1 quart of water. Remove water from heat and drop on a 1 gallon size lipton tea bag. Let it sit for 5 minutes. Remove tea bag. Add water to reach a gallon. Add 1/2 teaspoon of powder caffeine. Add 1/4 cup of lemon juice.

I don't like to drink sugar, but I'm a pretty big fan of stimulants.
