thinking about the Vizio VX32L
after reading about it on avsforum, it seems like the general consensus is that it's an excellent set for the money.. i can get it for around $480.
anyone have any objections to this?
i know it'll only do 1080i, but i don't need anything more. 10/1/2007 2:26:56 AM |

I am not aware of any lcd running an interlaced resolution. one would have to assume it's 720p like every other 32" lcd. I'd probably get an olevia over a vizio though, they've always seemed to have better black levels and less motion blur in my personal experience. 10/1/2007 8:26:26 AM |

i wouldnt buy a vizio for one reason. their remotes SUCK, and it will break, and you cannot get a replacement from Vizio, nor are they compatible with ANY universal remotes. 10/1/2007 10:24:59 AM |

i've got a logitech harmony remote and it seems to work fine on the store model
also, i looked at the olevia and the vizio side by side, and after tuning the color settings to my liking, the vizio actually looked slightly better with better black definition. 10/1/2007 11:15:05 AM |

Vizio makes great-looking LCDs.
I own an Olevia (32" that they sell at Circuit City), and the picture on it is fantastic, but the remote/responsiveness SUCK big time.
You should be able to get a Harmony remote working with ANY infrared source. It can learn commands in 3 different modes, so even if a preset isn't available on their site, you can still teach it damn near anything (including buttons combinations if you're quick enough!)
I own a Harmony 676 and 880, and I actually like the 676 better (the buttons on the 880 are pretty rubbish: hard vs soft on the 676) 10/1/2007 1:40:48 PM |
