Interactive Remix has an immediate opening for a Technical Writer.

Experience in writing documentation is a must.

Location: Research Triangle Park / Durham, NC

Duration: Short-Term Contract Employee (1-2 months)

Pay Rate: Negotiable. Depends on experience.

Work Schedule:

Flexible. Approximately 10-15hrs a week initially. Should be available Monday-Friday (between 6pm-11pm) for team meetings and collaboration. Availability on weekends is a plus.

Required Skills:

Technical writing, user manuals, documenting systems or programs, training manuals, installation guides, methods and procedures manuals, and articles about technical subject matter (i.e. products, systems, facilities). Commercial boxed software, high production quality documentation experience and/or desktop publishing experience. High quality end-user documentation, on-line help authoring.

Desired Skills:

High quality end-user documentation, on-line help authoring, commercial projects experience, documentation for commercial boxed software. Experience with web development is a beneficial but not required.

Non-Tech Skills:
Problem solving skills, ability to work with minimal direction, leadership skills.

Additional Notes:

Candidate will be expected to work on-site with Sr. Software Engineer & Sr. Web Developer between the hours of 6pm-11pm Monday through Friday.

Candidate will be in charge of developing documentation for our new CMS, eCommerce, and CRM applications.

Candidate will also be expected to participate in software testing and software usability evaluations.

^^ i disagree completely. my dad has been a technical writer for yeeears. and when he was looking for his last job 4 years ago there was almost a $20,000 span across the 4 companies he was looking at..
