so my old laptop power supply, screen and all has bit the dust basicailly.
I am wanting to keep my 80 gb hard drive and just purchase a new laptop that does not have any hard drive in it.
how can I know if its possible to swap out my hard drive to the new laptop, and I am looking to purchase today sometime cuz its getting oldddd using the campus computers.
so i have an emachines m6805 and want to swap it out with any laptop that i can get cheap without hard drive.
can this be done by just simply putting it in the hard drive slot on the new computer? 10/8/2007 12:42:28 PM |

need to know if the old uses an IDE interface or S-ATA, look that info up. most new use SATA..soo figure that out and compare. there's almost no chance you can just put in your hard drive and the new computer actually boot.. you'll have to at least re-install windows on the new machine. you can do this without formatting though so your data will be there
