Anyone seen this show yet?
I watched the first one with Brazilian wrestling and although I think they could have done a better job picking the guys, it's an awesome idea.
Comes on Discovery Channel, Thursdays at 9

I gotta say, some of those Brazilian natives looks pretty damn hot
I didn't like how much focus Brad got though 10/9/2007 9:33:23 AM |

native titties are kind of -> ... in my opinion
But the show is pretty good. Of course, those westerners couldn't wrestle worth a darn. My little brother on his high school varsity team could smoke these guys by those rules. It's easy pin someone with that kind of stance and even easier to shoot for the legs.
Of course, I'll give them the benefit of a doubt since they only had like 2 days of practice and then had parana teeth filed through their legs. 10/9/2007 9:43:39 AM |

Yeah they have about a million repeats...I guess the Discovery Channel has only so much to put on (I love the Discovery Channel so don't lecture me ) 10/9/2007 11:04:04 AM |

Anyone watch the Zulu stick fighting episode?
I don't get why some of the Zulus were giving up so easily. One guy gave up just because the other dude's defense was too good...after some dude get cracked in the skull and you quit because the other guy has good defense...that's bogus

i love this show. and yeah i was disappointed in how easily the zulus gave up too. with all the blood in the first half of the episode i thought it was gonna be a helluva bloody climax. but all the zulus wussed out.
this week's looks sort of interesting with the endurance training. i'm thinking big brad might not do so hot. 10/16/2007 1:17:03 PM |

Yeah I don't really see how the "endurance athlete" guy won't win this...unless he breaks his feet or something 10/16/2007 1:57:35 PM |

Interesting outcome. Didn't expect Ryko (however you spell it) to win. 10/19/2007 1:15:34 PM |

BMX guy wins? Didn't expect that one either. The western guys definately had one up on those little asian dudes: physical advantage.
You could be the fastest craziest kicker in the world, but if you're opponent is twice your height and weight, it's going to be hard to bring him down. 10/26/2007 9:52:17 AM |

they just kicked them in the back and they went flying. kind of cheap, but those little guys meant business.
does anyone know what the prize is for winning the show? a buddy and i were discussing this at lunch, the guys talk about not being able to provide for their families and whatnot, and i'm sure that there is some kind of contractual payment, but is there a grand prize for the winner?
next week looks like more hardcore wrestling, should be good. the Zulu stick fighting was the craziest sport so far, but it seemed a little contrived, you guys are right they were giving up easy. on the flip side the Mexican running was the most boring, but seemed to present the biggest challenge.
great show, best reality TV has had to offer in a long time. 10/26/2007 10:26:40 PM |

I was really surprised at how well they did in the kick fighting, especially considering how confident the local fighters were.
I mean I understand physical advantage and being twice the size and everything, but you would still think that someone who's been doing that their whole life should have no problem taking out a guy who just learned a week ago...like the Brazilian wrestlers had no problems really. 10/30/2007 10:46:11 AM |

First of all, they were all DOMINATED by the mongolians. Secondly, I didn't know asians came that big. Lastly, I would have eaten the sheep testicles like they were candy. 11/2/2007 8:40:19 AM |

anyone else think that Mark talks like a bad John Lennon impressionist?
it was sad watching Brad throw that little kid, but the big guy stomped his ass. 11/3/2007 9:59:55 AM |

They aren't showing repeats like crazy any more...if you haven't seen it by like Saturday morning you are out of luck, although you can watch every one of them on the Discover Channel website and they look perfect.
The endurance guy seems to be a bit of a complainer. Maybe I haven't really had them that badly, but I have had shin splints before and if I remember right my cross country coach's prognosis was to just keep running and they will go away. 11/5/2007 11:20:59 AM |

is the ginger guy gay? he seems a little effeminate to me.
those mongolians train in some harsh conditions. no matts, pads or anything. i was afraid one of them was going to get busted up with all those rocks around. 11/5/2007 12:35:56 PM |
