The fact that Oklahoma is above Kentucy boggles my mind...AGAIN. I can perhaps understand SC being above Kentucky considering they beat Kentucky. But Oklahoma lost to fucing Colorado, and Kentucky lost to SC, who is #6 in the BCS, but beat the #1 team in the nation this weekend. How and why in the hell is Oklahoma always ranked so hig?

Maybe because Kentucky have always been s***?
Or maybe because their OOC consisted of Florida International, Kent State, Eastern Kentucky, and Louisville, not one of which was on the road. If you want to even be in the conversation, you have to schedule someone that's worth a rat's ass (state rivals don't count).

There is no way you can sit here and honestly say that Oklahoma should be ranked above Kentucky. I really don't think its even possible.
^Kentucky has been better than USF, and last time I checked, Kentucky has won against better teams this year than fucking Oklahoma has.

The SEC are more than welcome to play for their own championship and the rest of the country can play for theirs. Right now, I'm cheering full-heartedly for South Florida to go undefeated. Why? Cause I want a playoff and the BCS to die. And nothing will do that better than USF in the national title game. The SEC are reaping what they sowed. They don't want a playoff. Cause they might actually have to play up in Ohio in January where it gets a little too cold for the pussies. No, they schedule the likes of Louisiana-Lafayette and Western Kentucky every year.
I want to see the best teams play each other out of conference. That's not wrong.

No, I want the SEC to actually play a conference team-for-team to give them a chance to actually prove themselves. We have an ACC vs Big 10 basketball challenge, why can't we have a Big 10 vs SEC football challenge, half home, half away. BECAUSE COLLEGE FOOTBALL COACHES BY NATURE ARE PUSSIES THAT DON'T PLAY ANYONE! This is the one thing that pisses me off not about the SEC, but about the sport in general. Why does State play Wofford? Why are we willing giving the university thousands of dollars in ticket prices to watch us play Wofford. It's a ripoff. And all these schools are complicit in it!
So excuse me if I don't think much of a school whose hardest game they were willing to schedule themselves was from the Sun Belt.

the BCS isnt about who is better, its about who deserves it... if it was just purely based on talent and who would typically beat who, USC would be in every year automatically.
Do I think LSU would beat the living dog shit out of BC? yes. it would be 45-10 probably.
But, BC is undefeated in a MAJOR conference and should be ahead of 1 loss team in another major conference
^ SEC beats the living dog shit out of the Big Ten in bowl games all the time, and they do play major schools OOC here and there, Tenn vs. Cal/UCLA/ND/Syracuse (when they were good), Bama vs. Oklahoma etc. But with a retardedly hard in conference schedule its almost suicide to ALSO have a tough OOC schedule (see TN this year)

its simple
one loss in football during some sort of conference challenge can knock you out of BCS title contention. one loss in college basketball really isn't a big deal, essentially, unless you're a bubble team. football programs with title hopes schedule shit teams so that if they do manage to run the table in their conference, they're in the clear for the BCS.
not to mention, by your logic, college bball OOC schedules are nothing but top-25 teams playing each other. i mean, look at our schedule (or anyone's). there are PLENTY of cupcake teams on there.10/14/2007 8:25:08 PM |

Ohio State are no better than the SEC.
All the top teams play no one of relevance out of conference. Games like VT-LSU or Cal-Tennessee or Ohio State-Texas a couple years ago happen once every 10 years.
Since I've paid attention to NC State the only good teams we've played out of conference have been Ohio State, Texas Tech, and Indiana. Out of 30 games, maybe 6 that are either at or level or above it (and Indiana sucks).
So how can we honestly have a discussion of this conference is better than that conference when good conferences' teams dodge each other, and instead build up 4-0 records off of I-AAs, Sun Belt teams, and MAC teams, usually all at home?
Bottom line, college football is like boxing. People's opinion of you is far more important to determining a champ than who you actually beat.

A few points that need to be made. USC= Southern California, SC= Southern California, S Carolina= South Carolina, South Carolina= South Carolina.....No more confusion please..
Quote : | "Which shows why we should have a playoff." |
So you're saying that a team in the SEC should schedule more BCS OOC games, risk losing, and if the lose, rectify it by waging war on the NCAA for a playoff, yea, see how long that lasts, and see how many BCS games you make with that strategy? It's not the coaches fault there is no playoff. Auburn ran the table and didn't even get into the title game a few years ago. And if Florida had a rougher OOC schedule last year, we wouldn't have gotten to see just how overrated tOSU was. Just 2 years ago we scheduled Eastern Kentucky, Middle Tennessee, and some other cupcake I've forgotten. It's really simple, if you're aiming for the BCS and you're in the SEC, you schedule OOC cupcakes, if you want people to praise your OOC schedule while concurrently ending your season before January and watching better teams play in the BCS, run the OOC gauntlet10/14/2007 8:51:18 PM |

Are you telling me that if TOB was coaching BC, they wouldn't be undefeated?
That team is stocked full of seniors. That TOB recruited. Now they're blowing up, and I wonder what has made them so good? 3-4 years of TOB, or one year of Jags and Logan?
If you're telling me Logan is making this big of an impact, you're retarded. How come ECU never went undefeated?
Because its the level of talent you recruit and how you develop it. Jags will never do anything in the ACC once TOB's recruits graduate, and perhaps after this year once all the seniors leave.
Seriously, are you fucking dumb? That program is TOB's. Their success has nothing to do with the current staff. There are so many returning starters/players with extensive playtime its ridiculous. Just watch next year when BC goes 4-8.

We will never know. But what we DO KNOW, is the new coach has the same players undefeated, and ranked higher than TOB ever had that team. And bowl wins mean shit when you don't make a BCS bowl. Who cares what your record is when you play soup, toilet, and cereal bowls.
And TOB came to a team with supposed "tallent" and is more than likely gonna lead them to a worse record. You people talked about how Amato couldn't coach, but could recruit, yet you get a better coach in...supposedly, and he is doing even worse than Amato.
