i thought that was common knowledge.
they prob still have substantial costs associated with replacing batteries, though, and they cost more upfront. 10/15/2007 3:03:10 PM |

the maintenance will be expensive too.. most mechanics dont wanna mess with hybrid cars.
one mistake and the car is screwed.
we've bought several and not even laid a finger on them and just sent them back to auction. 10/15/2007 3:04:49 PM |

On a side note, there are some techies out in California where instead of modding their cars for performance gains, they are "tricking out" their prius(insert multiple form here) to have even better gas mileage through stronger/more/larger batteries and different engine management. 10/15/2007 4:24:41 PM |

My jeep got 16.4 the other week!
I was actually fairly pleased with that, haha.
I'd buy a hybrid pickup truck if they didn't cost $what_the_fuck?. That and the whole replacing the battery thing in such a short period of time. Gotta work on lifetime batteries for those hybrids. 10/15/2007 7:26:27 PM |

I figure I'm doing the world a favor by using gas quicker than most people. The sooner we run out the sooner we'll have to find a good solution for the future. Fuck a hybrid. 10/15/2007 7:31:07 PM |
