I recently signed up for Clearwire internet and phone service however I can't get a good signal at my current location so I'd like to discontinue the service. Unfortunately I'm past the 1 week trial period and I have to pay the early termination fee... unless someone is willing to have the account transfered over to their name. The sales rep told me this would be the best solution and she is currently finding someone who will take over my account. In the meantime I'm searching for someone myself.

Is anyone here interested in taking over my Clearwire Internet+Phone account? I got a special promotional rate of $20/month for the internet and $30/month for the phone for one year (I just signed up on October 7th, just ten days ago). I can't separate the Internet and Phone services so I'm only interested in transferring the entire package. Please PM if you're interested and have any questions. Thanks.

im not trying to bash your thread or anything, but my roommate currently has clear wire, and were splitting the bill 4 ways.

Weve got the fasted speed they have, and if it wasnt for his contract and for me not being a dick, i would have told him to go fuck himself because the high speed internet is anything but. It completely sucks shit. For 40 a month, this is the worst internet ive ever had. The signal comes and goes, at times its a little fast, but others, its takes several several seconds to load a page

^I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with Clearwire. I don't have a good signal from my apartment, but after working with their tech support I was able to better understand why. I live in an apartment that's in the corner of a building facing away from the closest tower. The tech guy was also able to track in real time which of the other towers I was connecting to. Unfortunately for me, the location and direction of my apartment along with the location of the surrounding towers is causing my modem to bounce back and forth between two or three different towers (but not the closest one) which gives me an irradic connection... sometimes fast sometimes slow. I was able to test it outside my apartment pointed towards the closest tower and my signal was strong and constant, probably because the closest tower didn't have to fight with the other ones over control. If I had a window facing West I would be 100% happy with Clearwire.

I do have a lot of positive things to say about their customer support and their tech support. I've been much more pleased with their service and support over Earthlink and Roadrunner. Unfortunately Clearwire just isn't a viable option for me right now.

Anyway, for anyone who is interested, let me reiterate that the internet is $20/month and the phone is $30/month which is very low because they had an agreement with the Kramden Institute who ran the Geekathon two weeks ago. Their regular rate for the internet alone is $34.95/month so this is a pretty good deal in my opinion. I suggest you call 1-888-CLEARWIRE (253-2794) and talk to tech support, give them your location and ask where the closest towers are. That way you can see if you have any windows facing that direction to give you the clearest signal. It makes a big difference.

Ok, I'm getting desperate here. As an incentive for taking over my contract I'm offering $100 in cash.

I've about given up and I'm already in the process of canceling and returning the modem box, but they told me that up until I mail it out I can still transfer the service over to someone else. So if you want to save some money please contact me.

What so you can talk on the phone while typing on your PDA phone and driving.

I was thinking of Clearwire as I want Time Warner to kiss my ass. Still got it? If so send me a PM.
