if you go in the entrance next to the lake, go across the bridge, keep straight (village of yesteryears to your left), go past the the corn booth (on your right), go past the nc state ice cream (on your left), then its not far past that on your left

Quote : | "In Minnesota, Wisconsin, Upper Michigan and Iowa, deep-fried cheese curds are often found at carnivals and fairs, and occasionally local non-chain fast food restaurants and bars. Deep-fried cheese curds are covered with a beer-based batter, like that used for onion rings, or are breaded and placed in a deep fryer creating something akin to mozzarella sticks.
In the United States, A&W Restaurants and Culver's have added fried cheese curds to their menu and they are available nationwide.[2]" |

Quote : | "RALEIGH -- The oil-dipped competition in the world of fried food at the N.C. State Fair has gone retro.
For years the fatty fanfare heated up around the latest innovation in deep-fried offerings. Each fair brought a new brand-name morsel to be batter-dunked and boiled: Milky Way, then Twinkies, then Coke.
This year, the Mensas of munchables have gone back to basics: Deep-fried peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
Rounding out the return to the standbys, the fair will offer the venerable funnel cake decked out as a s'more, with crumbled graham cracker, chocolate and marshmallow mixed in. Crumbled Oreos also are an option.
Ben & Jerry's, meet dough.
The peddlers of this latest heart clogger, Murphy House restaurant, served up a few samples at a State Fair preview for the news media Tuesday and will be selling them for the first time when the fair commences on Friday.
"Anytime you come to a fair, someone's always looking for something new," said Matthew Varnadoe, a manager at Murphy House who came up with the ideas along with colleagues during slow periods at their funnel cake or fried Coke booth at other fairs.
The Observer, fulfilling its duty to verify information, determined that all three of the new deep-fried foods are, indeed, tasty.
And State Fair sources, who asked not to be identified for fear of dietary endangerment, confirm that Old Style Foods, of Salisbury, will be selling deep-fried Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.
Besides the 110 rides, the racing pigs, petting zoo and prize booths, the fair includes a host of new or improved attractions, including:" |

I wanted to try those, but didn't get a chance to. Need to go back to the fair once more before it closes, methinks.
In other fried item news, the fried reese's cups (new this year, or at least I didn't notice them last year) are quite good, but don't quite measure up to the fried snickers or fried moon pie. 10/18/2007 4:48:05 PM

The frozen cheesacake is dipped in chocolate, but the deep dried cheesecake has whipped cream and Hershey's syrup on it. The deep fried is good, but the frozen dipped is better. I've had 2 this week. I take that back, I don't know which is better. Frozen dipped is easier to eat.
My favorite thing at the fair was DEEP FRIED PICKLES!!!! They're amazing! They do spears instead of chips. Chips are crispier, but the spears are just awesome. I found this one place with THE BEST corn dogs EVER. They use the sweet yellow corn meal... mmmm. Would have been better with big fat, beef hot dogs, but they were atill good. And only $3.
^ Yes. 4 cans I think. But you should take more, food banks are running low.
